@HeatherL114 I agree that the students have a say in classroom rules and other aspects however, at the end of the day, I am the teacher and my priorities are safety and learning. Once those two goals are achieved, other great things can take place
@HeatherL114 To be devils advocate, as a special Ed teacher I do need classroom structure or i have behaviors that are presented that impede on the safety of my students
@JonathonPuIIiam Yes I do make copies, the physical activity is more engaging for my students! I give my f2f students a schedule to follow throughout the day while I do small groups via google meets

@EDUwithEMILY As a reply to myself, I understand the need for Maslow. However, my sped kinder-2nd kids also need to learn when certain behaviors are appropriate. We do a lot of social skills so eating in the middle of our meets can sometimes deter that
@EDUwithEMILY My school allows it. I’m against it because I find it distracting. When it becomes a distraction I will say something to my students. But I can’t do too much since school finds it ok
