in the year of our lord 2026 speech to text will still transcribe hypermobility as hyperboobility and while i'd prefer better tech and NLP, that one can stay
Because Long Covid isn't cancer- it's a wastebasket diagnosis that groups together multiple post-Covid conditions, and odds are a good chunk of those conditions are fully or partially due to psychological issues.
when you drink drinks with dye in them, they dye your digestive tract, just like how your tongue turns a diff color. this makes the surgeon's job risky, because it could look like bleeding, or just make it hard to see. they will have to do this all over again and reschedule.
this is why EXPLAINING why a rule is important to your patient is crucial. They're going to think it's some arbitrary rule.
Explain why AND write it down. I can guarantee that both the patient & every surgeon, nurse, clinician involved were frustrated having to reschedule this.
This woman thought she found a loophole with her colonoscopy prep 😂
Her doctor said no red or purple Gatorade, so she went with pink… which is still has red dye. She’s mixing up 64 ounces of Gatorade with a whole bottle of Miralax and has to drink it all — half now and half in the morning — while trying not to gag.
The only problem? That pink dye can make it really hard for the doctor to see what’s actually going on in there. So there’s a good chance the doctor won’t be able to get a clear look and she may have to do the prep all over again.
Be honest… who thinks she’s about to find out pink still counts as a no-no and has to drink this whole thing all over again? Drop your prediction below 😂
talk to your doctor about wegozil. shout at your doctor about blarpo. whisper with your doctor about cixyl. show your doctor the sign (👌🤦♀️👏) for flonartil. laugh with your doctor about wexadry. email your doctor about drongle. glance meaningfully at your doctor about floova
@chrysaliscals 1. could have been a mistake 2. could not know the difference/why there's "bi" in bikini 3. COULD HAVE DONE THIS BECAUSE SHE WAS SMARTER THAN ALL OF YOU AND IS FARMING ENGAGEMENT AND MAKING BANK LIKE NO ONE'S BUSINESS 4. "retro swimsuit" is in link. 5. she admitted it's bait.
@DrSarahAxelrath thank you. people saying "panic attacks" like that wasn't in mind when tweeting this--there are so many options that don't cause rebound anxiety, don't form a tolerance as quickly/severely, and don't kill you in withdrawal. we shouldn't prescribe it at all anymore.
Imagine they told you it was stress—until you almost died. You fought for your life and you won. Now you’re fighting for others.
So much can happen in 2 years.
I… fucking did it. I mathematically mapped my calibration of the in silico tilt table test. It works. No matter which dysautonomia subtype, even the rare autoimmune orthohypertensive type. Holy fucking shit. I think this might be history???
doctors think they aren't biased, but as I go through this TTT data, it is astonishingly obvious. Pt 01 has mod to sev neuropathic POTS. doc wrote wrong hr delta, missed connection btwn QSART + TT & called it "borderline," while pt 02 w mild pres is deemed "excessive response."
frankly it looks like the MD for pt 01 was rushing and made mistakes that impacted the patient's ability to access treatment, care, and potentially insurance coverage.
if a hospital says "improve education" as a solution one more time.... we've been trying that. they still dont do it. I dont know if I can build fast enough to beat her rapid decline. But i swear to god, I will fight for her to at least be properly comfortable.
discovering that there is a huge problem in geriatric medicine for age populations 85+. The ageism is just absolutely brutal. You are not providing the necessary education to enable informed medical decisions. Use AI, improve your skills, whatever--but stop infantilizing pts.
she doesn't even know what palliative care would look like, or what the consequences of that are. she doesn't know what's happening inside of her body. How terrifying. I just... this is just so awful. They just default to "well you're not going to fall again!" uh, YES SHE WILL.
