when you drink drinks with dye in them, they dye your digestive tract, just like how your tongue turns a diff color. this makes the surgeon's job risky, because it could look like bleeding, or just make it hard to see. they will have to do this all over again and reschedule.

this is why EXPLAINING why a rule is important to your patient is crucial. They're going to think it's some arbitrary rule.

Explain why AND write it down. I can guarantee that both the patient & every surgeon, nurse, clinician involved were frustrated having to reschedule this.

This woman thought she found a loophole with her colonoscopy prep 😂

Her doctor said no red or purple Gatorade, so she went with pink… which is still has red dye. She’s mixing up 64 ounces of Gatorade with a whole bottle of Miralax and has to drink it all — half now and half in the morning — while trying not to gag.

The only problem? That pink dye can make it really hard for the doctor to see what’s actually going on in there. So there’s a good chance the doctor won’t be able to get a clear look and she may have to do the prep all over again.

doctors think they aren't biased, but as I go through this TTT data, it is astonishingly obvious. Pt 01 has mod to sev neuropathic POTS. doc wrote wrong hr delta, missed connection btwn QSART + TT & called it "borderline," while pt 02 w mild pres is deemed "excessive response."

frankly it looks like the MD for pt 01 was rushing and made mistakes that impacted the patient's ability to access treatment, care, and potentially insurance coverage.
