The 76-unit order was signed in 2018 and planned for even earlier, the production rate is in line with the order, it's not "slow," it's close to being on schedule. And no, there "can not" be a possibility of no new orders being placed, VKS never signs new orders before the previous one is fulfilled, which is going to be no earlier than 2028. Considering Sukhoi's been expanding the manufacturing to accomodate for more 57 orders, any speculation that there won't be any more by the VKS is in the reddit baloney territory.

I feel like when the number is going to be over 100 some individuals will still ramble about "30 at most." There are over 40 frames flying right now, maybe over 50 since the deliveries got classified, not including the Algeria order; plus the manufacturing is being expanded which was announced publicly. People need to get with the times.

SK does it steady and shows actual results, Turkey shows mockups and ridiculous promises and have already had one deadline shift on the engine. A serious approach would be to go with something that actually works and is being improved in development rather than chasing an F-22 clone by appearance only for flash. SK will close their tech gap and have a frame with internal weapon bays in time. I like their development approach in general, very sensible given the lack of experience. If a country wants a working fleet, they'd go with that. If they want to show off and embezzle money, I guess Turkey will do

I have my money solid on South Korea here. Everything Turkey's PR firms have been churning out sounds too ridiculous to believe, given their track record I'll stick to my guns here. Someone will either find out that making engines takes more time than advertised or they're going to deliver a subpar engine that won't produce adequate performance for the airframe weight
