Thoughts after a year and a half of coaching u-18 and u-21s.
- the most important thing in coaching is keeping a squad happy and cohesive. You can have the best tactics and ideas yet if the players don’t believe in it or you then it won’t work.
Amorim understood the profiles that we had. Players weren’t exposed under him. We look exposed under Carrick, we’re back to blaming players. We need a structure that brings the best out of them!
We have to move from the idea that only attacking players will make your team more attacking. Sub defenders and push higher up. Squeeze teams up. Increase intensity from behind
Carrick has misprofiled Cunha and that’s why we struggle in attack. You can’t have Cunha as your 9 and hope Bruno shines. Cunha wants the ball to feet and wants to combine in tight spaces. In this system you either play him LW or CAM. You need a sesko at 9 as your target
Back sharing footy thoughts.
Fulham vs Chelsea early thoughts- although alonso’s team is organised and structured well. I think they’re a limited with the wingbacks especially if he wants them to hug the line. Gusto could do the job but I think you need a winger on one side.

@ManUtd
Amorim brought in hard working attacking players and took out dead weight from the team. Instilled proper pressing and counter pressing tactics. If anyone does better after that it’s because of the clear foundation he’s laid down. Clear to see.
🚨🎙️Mason Mount on the Sacking of Amorim
“ You really Brought out the best version of me, I'm ever greatful, Thank you gaffer. All the best to you and your staff for the future, "
