A resource for preachers dedicated to the practice, discussion, and study of preaching in an effort
to encourage sermons which are connected to Scripture.
You see, we don't go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus' sake. 2 Corinthians 4:5
"There is something unique about preaching. When you have a living person facing living people, hopefully a Spirit-filled preacher facing Spirit-filled people, there's a chemistry. There is something that doesn’t happen on television or other forms of communication.”– John Stott
“The kind of God we believe in determines the kind of sermons we preach. The essential secret is not mastering certain techniques but being mastered by certain convictions. In other words, theology is more important that methodology.”
- John Stott
"Being 'able to teach isn't primarily about eloquence. It’s about rightly handling the word of truth. If you're plagiarizing someone else’s exegesis, exposition, or illustrations, you’re eroding your credibility to do the work and qualification to hold the office."

Wise words from Calvin Miller ⬇️
We make a mistake in always trying to write better sermons while paying so little attention to the life of the preacher.
"In many sermons the biblical passage read to the congregation resembles the national anthem played at a baseball game- it gets things started but is not heard again during the afternoon."
- Haddon Robinson
“Plagiarism and imitation still plague the pulpit and rob preachers and congregations of the unique personal ministry any preacher can have.”
- Warren W. Wiersbe
Small group Bible study isn't a place where everyone guesses what a passage means.
God's Word has a meaning. It's not up for a vote.
A faithful leader studies the text, handles it rightly, and says with clarity: "This is what it means."
Had a great time teaching Pastors Collective at Central Baptist in Buna, TX! Big thanks to Pastor Rusty Mott for the invitation. Always love spending time with these Southeast Texas pastors.

"Do not be too downcast if you happen to have a very bad service... There is a real danger of putting our faith in our sermon rather than in the Spirit. Our faith should not be in the sermon, it should be in the Holy Spirit Himself."
-Martyn Lloyd-Jones
"I remind myself that the Lord did not call me to be eloquent, but He does expect me to be faithful."

On #preaching: “If a baker once made me a loaf of bread without any flour in it, I would take good care that he should never do so again; and I say the same of the man who can preach a Christless gospel.” – Charles H. Spurgeon MTP XLIX p. 613
“If I want to honour the Lord Jesus Christ … , how can I do it better than by preaching of his own person, his own manhood, his own Godhead, his own life, his own death, his own resurrection, his own ascension, and his own coming again ….” – C. H. Spurgeon MTP LV p. 28
