We've been quiet recently because Mark Goodwin and I have been working to write the most comprehensive investigation into Polymarket's origins and ambitions to date.
We found that Polymarket's "official" origin story, that Shayne Coplan founded the company alone in 2020 and then built "the company in his bathroom", is a lie. Polymarket really started years earlier as another company called TokenBnk that was deeply tied to Israeli interests, specifically a crypto company founded by Benjamin Netanyahu's niece and nephew. Coplan has actively tried to obfuscate this company from his story and it's not the only thing either.
In Part 1 of this two-part series, we unravel the real history of Polymarket, directly connecting the company to Peter Thiel's efforts to resurrect controversial DARPA programs from its now defunct Information Awareness Office. Polymarket appears to have been chosen by Thiel and his associates to succeed in resurrecting DARPA's Policy Analysis Market where another Thiel-linked company, Augur, had previously failed.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where we explore the current influence of prediction markets and Polymarket, including how an insidious effort to have prediction markets replace representative democracy as a governance model is already being slowly implemented by the White House.

Feminism, originating in 19th century America, was the diabolical movement to grant women complete equality in political and social life, in addition to denying men — both in theory and practice— authority in the home.
Unless oppose this, you are a feminist.
The choir in the Sagrada Família is putting on the performance of a lifetime.
The vocals perfectly complement the stunning visuals of Gaudí’s cathedral!
Thanks @beeple, I’ve been a fan of your art for a long time. This is my new favorite.
When I decided to sell my art I wanted every piece on the blockchain and to accept Bitcoin as payment.
“The Internet of Money” by Andreas Antonopoulos really opened my eyes.
I kind of expect as much given it’s Balthasar, which is why I was hoping there are some further resources that could help me situate his book in contraposition to other schools of thought, or where things need to be further researched or reassessed. Seems like overall reception of St. Maximus is a greenfield for new research and synthesis.
The Gospel is much more than a book: it is Christ Himself, the Good News for humanity that is confused, deceived, and disappointed by many evils. He satisfies our thirst for justice and truth, and He instills in us the courage to persevere in doing good and to place ourselves personally at the service of our neighbor.
Most mornings, all year, during “circle time” my daughter moves the liturgical calendar to #Pentecost. Ecce diem. O come Holy Spirit. #venisanctespiritus
Was reflecting on this a bit more. Maybe one of the reasons I love the theology, reality, and practice of praying through the angels so much for our times is that their existence is only known through revelation. They can't be known through natural reason alone (correct me if I'm wrong). Therefore, for our materialist and rationalist modern times they are a powerful witness!
We really need to more actively interact with our Guardian Angels.
About 2 years ago, I made sure to include my Guardian Angel in between every decade of the Rosary I prayed.
Whenever I’m in a conflict, or know of others in conflicts, I often ask everyone’s Guardian Angels to pray for us/them, that we receive the graces we need to resolve the conflict in a God and Golden Rule-honoring way.
I can see much more clearly the ways in which my own Guardian Angel has protected me from so many things—even events I may perceive as disappointments at the time, but later find out I was being protected from something.
Our Guardian Angels desire for us to reach heaven even more than our family and friends. Don’t forget to develop your relationship with them!
“In heaven, their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.”
Jesus (Matt. 18:10)
