Linking the sustainable development goals can give students a more holistic learning experience. #goal3 and #goal11 can be taught in sync to broaden the understanding of students. Healthy and sustainable living betters both people and place #educ4750

REDUCE, RECYCLE, REUSE.
This video will give the students real life examples of schools that have went above and beyond working towards sustainable futures. This can give perspective about how one school and one action can make a difference! #educ4750
Create educational experiences! #educ4750
Here is a resource I made that can be used to introduce sustainability. This gives the students a sense of connectedness to their learning it provides purpose and relevance to the students so they are more likely to get engaged! #goal11

WHAT DOES YOUR ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT SAY ABOUT YOU?
Students can use this tool to find areas of improvement and strategies for a whole school approach to a sustainable future. Students can reflect on the changes they have made during this topic.#educ4750
Now that a lot of learning has been shifted to online. Students might feel overwhelmed by the drastic changes. A school cookbook is an ideal way to show a sense of connectedness amongst the school community. Send in recipes that have significance to you or your family! #educ4750

Students are anxious about climate change. Some environmentalists insist the world will end without drastic change! Instead of causing fear, Teach students about sustainable lifestyles and the difference they can make as individuals. #EDUC4750
Spot the difference!
Students can investigate the unnecessary packaging found on goods. By incorporating everyday produce into the lesson you are connecting their learning to them as individuals!
What excess packaging do your students have in their lunchboxes? #goal11
21st century learning encompasses all the values of the global education perspectives!
Outdoor activities which are open ended and student centres incorporate the 6 C’s and equip our students to be active citizens in the future roles our ever changing world will offer! #educ4750
Students are making a difference!
Link their learning to current global issues.
Connecting real world issues in the classroom allows your students to see relevance in their learning. Providing perspective of the impact they are making for the school and wider community. #goal3
"If you planted the likes of spinach, Asian greens, snow peas or cabbages this weekend you’d be knee deep in homegrown fresh produce within a month or two..."
We couldn't agree with you more @adamliaw.

What a great initiative!
Not only will this minimise waste in the school but also provide a relatable focus for integrated learning.
Connecting our students to meaningful content:
Should Waste Free Wednesday be everyday?
What do we notice about all our unpackaged foods?
#goal3
We have taken our first step towards #goal3. Holistic learning across KLA’s is open ended and promotes critical and creative thinking amongst our students. Overlooked advantages of working outside is behaviour management and differentiation. #UoNTeach#kitchengarden#educ4750
Do you know how to effectively use technology and all of its features?
You can measure on apple devices! Use the camera to measure lengths and areas of various objects and spaces, making maths lessons more connected and relatable for students. https://t.co/HyJRFDegbK #UoNTeach
Fuel Curiosity!
Having students facilitate their own learning creates greater depth to their understanding. Some of the best lessons come without fancy resources. Get outside, get connected. Learning shouldn't be confined to the four walls of a classroom. #goal3#goal4#UoNTeach
What a great way to get the community involved!
By involving parents and community members in the students learning and initiatives it will be more likely for the students to extend their learning beyond the classroom! Making Education Count! #Goal11#EDUC4750#learninglifestyle
Come along to the 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, to hear from speakers including our CEO @JosepheneDuffy. The festival encourages people to come together to connect, evoke change and generate ideas around tech, farming and food.

This is a great example of how a class action can impact the wider school community! Students could be involved in peer to peer teaching about how to use the bins and why we use different ones. Relevant learning that links to real world issues #SDGs#goal11! #Educ4750
Having students involved in the learning process allows further opportunity to develop skills and understandings of KLA's. This article shows the benefits of an inquiry approach to learning and how when teachers are facilitators students receive more meaningful learning.#EDUC4750
YES! Get students involved in their own learning, not only gaining them knowledge but skills and competencies needed for a healthy lifestyle! Using programs like #Kitchengarden in schools links to #goal3#SustainableDevelopment. Meaningful learning through hands on experiences!
Is it ever too early to start cooking? At Clarendon Children Centre, babies smell spices, toddlers mash pumpkin and pre-schoolers make spring rolls. It's all part of the new @SAKGF Early Years program, launching today. Via @theage@goodfoodAU

Great article, that shows how a kitchen garden can be used in an integrated program that considers and implements the global goals and values, such as climate action and health and wellbeing. Not only does this provide experiential learning but also #culturalawareness. #UoNTeach.
Dewey argues that students develop a deeper understanding when learning through experiences. Having students complete outdoor activities uses skills and competencies that are seen in 21C learning; critical thinking, problem solving skills and project-based learning. #UoNTeach
I googled this question, all of the responses do not take the well-being of the student on board, nor do they explain the "blanket approach" these tests have. Students should be able to complete an open ended task to determine competencies. Support our students the right way.
