6 weeks into 2025 and we’ve seen 12 fatal fires. Fire doesn’t stop, particularly in the winter months. Our thoughts are with the families, communities, investigators and first responders affected by these tragic events. @ONFireMarshal urges everyone to have a working smoke alarm.
Our first time ever having an all female crew working out of one of our stations today! Excellent to see these strong women serving together💪🏻👩🏼🚒👩🏼🚒👩🏻🚒👩🏻🚒@St_Catharines@firefighters_st
Dr. Jennifer Frendo's childhood passion for the outdoors led her on a journey to become a family medicine physician.
Her love for science found its perfect match in the medical field, where she now cares for patients from "cradle to golden years." https://t.co/TKz2UNQOKj #Take5
“ERTSAR is known for it’s specialist capacity to respond to “All Hazard” emergency incidents locally, nationally and internationally.
From "Fires to Floods" we train year around in our foundation staples, but for the 2024 Season we are literally focusing on the "3 Fs" = Fires, Floods and (Medical pre-hospital) First Response.
We are still able to respond to our other disciplines including Fires, USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) and Storms etc., but the 3 Fs are this year’s focus.”

Outstanding! An honour to be medical director for the best EMS agency on the planet! Splitting this service into three parts would be one of the worst decisions I can imagine. I completely support @Peel_Paramedics to do anything possible to prevent such a disaster!
Hot off the press from @Peel_Paramedics: New video on violence against #paramedics
This has been in the works for a while and is such an important topic. So great to see this go live. Shoutout to Supt. Mandy Johnston for seeing this through

Canada’s indigenous veterans have a long history of military service to our country, but haven’t always received equal recognition or support. Honouring Indigenous Veterans Day is a way to acknowledge their sacrifice & is an important step in reconciliation. #CanadaRemembers
6 (six) @Peel_Paramedics public access AEDs have been used in the past 6 days, 4 Saved a life with 1 shock & bystander CPR, 2 used as a precaution, (no shock needed). This only reinforces why @regionofpeel participates in events like Resuscitation Science Symposium. As leaders!
#FireRanger applications opened November 1, so this month we’re exploring what a FireRanger does. It’s a rewarding yet physically demanding job. Tune in over the next month to learn more.
Kyle has worn many hats at our service: Paramedic, Superintendent, Professional Standards Advisor, H&S Rep. Today he can add Divisional Commander (A) to that list. Happy first day on the job Commander Johansen!
This #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth Peel Paramedics wear pink to raise awareness and pay tribute to survivors and those who have lost their lives to this disease. Get screened. Know the signs and symptoms. Early detection is key.
Last week, a person injured in an ATV accident in a remote area north of Kingston, Ont. was safely evacuated to hospital by a @RCAF_ARC 424 Squadron CH-146 Griffon helicopter from 8 Wing Trenton. #Rescue#RCAF#SAR

#DYK: Firefighting vehicles with green flashing lights have no bells, whistles or sirens. When it's safe, pull over and give them the right of way, it's a courtesy thing! Every second counts as they respond to an emergency in your community. #FireSafety
ERTSAR ARE RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS NOW.
ERT SAR is a smart, disciplined, self-sufficient, high performing team of multi-skilled humanitarians that can work quickly, operationally and autonomously to a high standard.
We are interested in fit adults who are able to wear a uniform to a high standard and attend training sessions. Emergency Services and Trades are usually fast tracked in special sessions (due to the transferable skills needed to operate in an emergency) however that is not a requirement.
We also have many members who do not have typical emergency service backgrounds who deploy with any of our other specialist teams.
Some requirements and details are listed here with a form to express interest:
