Yes, in fact, I do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonald’s should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That’s kind of the whole point of having a job and I can’t believe this is considered a radical position for me to take.
Nobody wants to work anymore because the reward is gone. Half of us are living paycheck to paycheck, with no savings for retirement or a house. Two paychecks away from homelessness. This is not laziness, it is pure exhaustion.
Yes AI is bad for the environment but we also can’t overstate how lame and uncool it is to pretend you wrote a book you didn’t write. Like toddler level delusion on full display by grown adults.
"By getting rid of paper files and replacing them with digital ones, they can erase history. One day you'll encounter the message 'page not found,' and the next day you'll see them deny that it ever actually happened."

I cried today because I just want to experience a season of life where I'm not always recovering from something. It feels like there's always an ugly truth I'm having to confront, a belief I'm having to unlearn, more work to be done. It's exhausting and lonely. And yeah, I get that life isn't fair and that you have to just keep going. But i keep being resilient when what I'd really like is relief.
The "Public Library" is one of the last places you can exist without spending money, and they're being systematically defunded. It's not an accident, it's the elimination of public space that doesn't require a transaction. They want every moment of your life to generate revenue for someone.

The worst part about ADHD task paralysis is that you're fully aware it's irrational. You know the task will only take 10 minutes. You know you'll feel better once it's done. You know avoiding it is making you miserable. And your brain still won't let you start.
The minimum wage is meant to be the lowest wage you can live on and afford housing. For everyone saying "it's not meant to be that," yes, it is.
That's why it's called the minimum wage.
Is anyone else ever genuinely shocked when you find out you have an impact on someone's life? A coworker can be like "I've missed seeing you" and I'm just like "???? you?? missed me????? My presence has an effect on your daily experience???? i affect things??? What???"
i hope my old self knows i love her n i’m trying to heal all her trauma from the past shit she went thru and didn’t deserve & how i’m creating new boundaries for her that she was too scared to do
Part of living with unfathomable levels of depression over the years has just been coming to the realization that 95% of people just won’t take the severity of the situation seriously until you’re dead lol
Living with undiagnosed or unmanaged ADHD often feels like constantly telling yourself, "Tomorrow is the day I'll finally get my life together, tackle everything on my list, and become the person I want to be."
You believe it every single time—until one day you realize years have gone by, and you're wondering where the time went.
