Retired software engineer. I served five Republican governors for 26 years, most of the time as the IT Director. Many years working in elections. Married LDS
When I was 14 I had friends who were LDS. They got me reading the Book of Mormon. I had been reading if for some time when I thought Why am I doing this. I don’t even know if it is true. I decided I’d try what I’d been told to do to find out if it was true. I was told I needed to study. I was doing that part. I also needed to live the gospel as I knew it. That ment I needed to go to church and some other things I’d learned and wasn’t doing. Last I needed to pray and ask God if it were true. I resolved right then that I was willing to do all these things to find out.
I started attending church. I cleaned up my life a bit and each day I knelt and prayed and asked God if Joseph Smith was a prophet and was the Book of Mormon true. Not right away but one night as I finished my prayer I heard a voice in my head. Why are you still asking if it’s true? You know it’s true and you’ve always known it.
That’s just the way I felt about it. I felt as though I’d always known it was true. I’m an old man now and it’s been an unspeakable blessing to me all these years. It has changed everything. Bless you Taya for imagining a new and wonderful life.
I have occasional issues but it’s been a long time since I’ve had a safety issue. It often has problems in knowing how to get out of a parking lot efficiently. It’ll take a route that I think is more dangerous than I would take myself and I take over and send it a different way. I’m at 98% self driving over the last 10,000 miles so yes I do trust it.
There is no question that it’s a better driver than I am. Yes I do pay attention. That’s still my responsibility but it’s very safe. It did take a while for me to trust it enough to let it drive. Kind of like not telling someone who is driving how you think they should be driving unless you or others are in danger.
Anyway happy driving.
@dundatt1989@SawyerMerritt@Tesla All you have to do is take a test drive. At first you’ll be scared but let it take you around town, on the highway on surface streets and after a little while you’ll trust it yourself.
I know you will
