subhanallah “he is the one who has set free the two kinds of water, one sweet and palatable, and the other salty and bitter. he has made between them a barrier and a forbidding partition. (Quran, 25:53)”
Dear Parents/Guardians and society,
Almajiris are as equal as every other children. What they deserve to be given is food, sound education, shelter and guidance.
If we fail to give them any of these, they will surely become a threat to the well-being of the future generation.
If you were born by parents who aren’t responsible and, at age 5, handed over to some poor cleric hundreds of kilometers away to exist as an almajiri, what would you have done?
This is the picture those of you who demonize these kids refuse to see. They didn’t choose this life.
A lot of us have been condescending in addressing the place and life of the Almajiri in our society. He is a product of a dysfunction we shouldn’t have allowed to happen. But did that 5-year-old Almajiri choose to be beggar? Have you offered him a better life and he refused?

Every Child has a right to decent education and a better life and it's really sad to know that the Almajiri system has assisted in depriving more than 8 million children these rights. The life of these children are in dire state and there is a strong need to reform the system.
