This is such a corruption of what One Piece is about.

Luffy does NOT go to countries looking to overthrow anyone. He is first and foremost just trying to have a good time. It is when his playful antics collide with totalitarianism that he decides to act.

He is not a revolutionary. He is purposefully a Pirate. As in, he is NOT looking to join a cause. His cause is HIS cause and nothing else. If you are his friend, then your cause becomes his.

Luffy is not a political actor. And it's precisely because of this that he befriends kings, queens, princesses, and shoguns. He has not issue with any type of government, as shown by his total willingness to hand power back to the legitimate, anti-totalitarian rulers that the REVOLUTIONARY TOTALITARIANS took by *force.*

You think Doflamingo is anything but a Revolutionary? The dude literally orchestrated a revolution then proceeded to create his "utopia."

The same can be said for Orochi, Crocodile, Enel, Caesar Clown, Kaido, and even Imu.

Luffy gets upset when a little girl cannot eat. But he doesn't destroy the nation because poverty exists. Hell, dude friggin lives like a poverty-stricken hooligan half the time. Pre-timeskip is dominated by the poor-house.

No, what he destroys is the totalitarian system that TAKES her food and gives it to someone undeserving. Because she cannot fend for herself, and those who are meant to protect her either cannot, or actively seek to hurt her.

Luffy does not riot. He pays for things he wants. He is genuinely curious and enthusiastic about the world and all of its intricacies. Poverty itself does not bother him at all, because HE is responsible for HIMSELF.

He even says as much when talking to Big Mom on the transponder snail: "You're making stupid excuses, Big Mom. Lola didn't get married, and that's on her. You haven't become King of the Pirates, and that's on you. Nothing else to it."

Luffy would ABHOR mindless looting, especially knowing people's livelihoods are being destroyed. Because he has the utmost respect for people who make things happen themselves.

Luffy is a RUGGED Individualist. He quite literally set out to sea without anything that he needed, knowing that he would have to *do it himself.*

If you hurt people and steal their livelihoods, that's on you. It's not "the system's" fault. Nothing else to it.
