انطلقت في العاصمة العمانية مسقط، الأحد 30 يونيو/حزيران 2024، جولة مفاوضات جديدة بين الأطراف اليمنية، بدعم من الأمم المتحدة واللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر، بشأن ملف المختطفين والأسرى. 

ويأتي انعقاد هذه الجولة من المفاوضات وسط مخاوف من إمكانية فشلها، خاصة مع رفض جماعة الحوثي المصنفة عالميًا بقوائم الإرهاب تنفيذ التزاماتها في الاتفاقات السابق�� بشأن المختطفين والأسرى وخصوصًا السماح بزيارة السياسي محمد قحطان، المخفي قسريًا في سجون الجماعة منذ 9 سنوات.

وفي كلمته في افتتاح جولة مفاوضات مسقط، اليوم، ربط رئيس الوفد الحكومي المفاوض "يحيى كزمان"، نجاح المشاورات بالكشف عن مصير السياسي محمد قحطان.

وبين أن من مساعي المشاركة "إطلاق سراح ومبادلة قحطان" الذي قال إنه "يعتبر عائقاً أساسياً يجب حل موضوعه ومن ثم الانتقال إلى إجراء أشمل وإغلاق هذا الملف الإنساني بإخراج كافة المحتجزين دون استثناء".
