A recent filing in a U.S. federal court (submitted on 8 October 2026 by transparency activist Aaron Greenspan in his ongoing FOIA lawsuit over historical records involving President Bola Tinubu) alleges that the Nigerian government pays $750,000 every month to DCI Group AZ, LLC, an affiliate of the Washington public affairs firm DCI Group.

This matches earlier U.S. Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) disclosures showing that the Tinubu administration, through a Nigerian law firm acting for the National Security Adviser, hired DCI Group in December 2025 on a $750,000 monthly retainer (initially $4.5 million for six months, with the potential to reach about $9 million). The stated purpose of the contract is to promote Nigeria’s efforts to protect Christian communities and sustain U.S. support for counter-terrorism operations.
