again, it could’ve helped me out on more than one occasion, as someone that’s extremely nervous about raids, learning in a group either gets me kicked or i feel like a nuisance bc im not doing something right or wiping bc i can’t figure something out. and i feel like there’s quite a few people that share the raid anxiety. most of you people have been playing wow for years, but what abt those that haven’t and all of these mechanics are brand spankin new and TERRFYING btw?
i think blizzard should implement a practice tool for raids/dungeons. kinda similar to the league practice tool? have tank dummies/phantoms that can be placed or automated for certain parts of fights to hold aggro while you trigger certain phases to practice mechanics instead of wiping ur raid team 384982 times.
i think that something like this would make raiding a lot less scary for more casual players, and after HoF is full, mythic versions of the fights could be released and practicable for more casuhardcore players? idk i think being able to practice a mechanic alone would make raiding so much more accessible for people.
i say all this because i remember in bfa, my first raid ever was nyalotha, and back then i was genuinely terrified of joining a guild or even pugging bc i didnt understand how mechanics worked, and word of mouth/videos didnt feel like enough to me? so i wiped a million times in lfr and quit until way later in that season bc i was just so embarrassed that i didnt understand it (wow was my first mmo and bfa my first xpac, i only played fps and league prior)
i know its probably something that would take a LOT of work to implement but i genuinely think it could help make player numbers go up or at least more players stick around because they wouldnt get as discouraged about not being able to keep up with current content.
am i insane for thinking this is a good idea?
overwatch really dropped new mercy skins and recolors as well as maid cat cafe bundle and i haven’t started doing sales on wow yet so im just OUT OF POCKETING TS????
i dont think you understand just how many people pug bosses per week. also, theres still going to be wipes and there will definitely be people that wont use the tool, i mean, there are ample youtube videos about mechanics and theres still wipes on wipes, its just a more hands on version, allowing you to feel out how certain mechanics work. but the reality is, if one person is 110% perfect, there will 10 to that 1 that are far far from perfect.
its based on effort. you wouldnt get anything from a practice tool besides knowledge and understanding, the same as a video. so people that spend more time perfecting it cause less issues.
take for instance blue arrows w circle on crown, my first time doing crown i could NOT for the life of me figure out how/where to point those arrows. it took me wiping some poor guild multiple times before i could understand it bc that was the first time i had ever seen a mechanic like that. it wouldve been easier for me to go into a practice tool and learn the pullback of that mechanic THEN bring it into raid and my RL could tell me where to point it. bc no matter what mechanics solo are going to look different than mechanics in a group.
there will still be a lot of learning involved.
