VIEWERS DISCLAIMER!!
What I witnessed tonight was deeply disturbing. A group of young teenagers were hanging outside moving vehicles, recklessly putting their lives and the lives of other road users at risk as if they were acting in a movie.
This kind of impunity cannot be tolerated in a country governed by the rule of law. Three vehicles were being driven by drivers who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. I believe many of these children have been given too much freedom by their parents, to the extent that they think having money places them above the law.
I call upon the Inspector General of Police and the Nairobi Traffic Police to investigate this incident thoroughly, impound the vehicles if the law permits, and take appropriate legal action against the drivers and vehicle owners where offences have been committed. Any minors found engaging in such dangerous behaviour should receive appropriate intervention and counselling, while those responsible for endangering them should be held accountable.
No one is above the law. Reckless behaviour on our roads must come to an end before innocent lives are lost.
