Teach a bit. Timetabler and lots of other stuff. I like Star Wars far too much for a man of my age. I run. or try to. Support EFC- seems the time to say so.
The new ofsted framework was so obviously written on the back of a fag packet it’s amazing that “knowing smoking causes cancer” wasn’t as inspection strand.
@amymayforrester He’s one of a number of heads on here who were willing to put their head above the parapet and speak clearly about both this and the heat last week.
To all those advocates for delaying the school start on Monday is it ok if we don’t have any trains, nurses, flights, deliveries, shops open until 10.30 etc so everyone has time to drop their children to school?
"Storm Shadow" has proven time and time again to be one the most effective weapons provided to Ukraine by Western allies, repeatedly penetrating the most sophisticated Russian air defence networks and destroying vital Russian military and industrial targets.
So…Looking at forecast for week beginning 6th July….. could be an interesting week as schools will probably only be 1C cooler than last week when many had half days and/or closed.
It seems that our political parties have forgotten that democracy doesn’t mean you always get what you want. I am bored of MPs being more concerned for themselves than the country. Watched the Tories put party and ambition over country and now it looks like nothing has changed.
The first major wave of online misinformation resulted in Brexit, a decision that the majority of economists regard as the most damaging economic choice Britain has made in modern times, making millions of working families poorer.
Now it appears a second wave may succeed in forcing out a democratically elected Prime Minister who in a short timeframe has a track record of delivering policy designed to help millions of working families. Not a perfect man, but certainly one of the better PMs of the last 30 years or so.
A wave of gross & obvious misinformation, spread and amplified by foreign-owned social media platforms, in a deliberate campaign designed to indoctrinate UK citizens, may have toppled a British Prime Minister.
We are going down a very dark path here.
A democratically elected British Prime Minister has been driven from office by a relentless campaign of propaganda and misinformation; funded, amplified and perpetuated by foreign billionaires and elites whose interests bear zero resemblance to those of ordinary working people.
A noble gesture from an emotional Keir Starmer, entirely consistent with his conduct in office.
A truly sad day for British democracy.
His full resignation speech:
It is outrageous to produce any framework that dictates what I do outside my working hours. Ofsted simply can not inspect what we do voluntarily in our unpaid free time neither can the DfE direct us. This needs challenging robustly!

Expectations for staff that they have to work outside their paid hours is problematic to say the least. To make their willingness measurable is simply absurd. Pay and conditions? Measurable by Ofsted? School funding? Once again cart before the horse
I do not to this day understand why schools persist in S1-4 behaviour systems coupled with staff running their own detentions and restoratives. If you want to burn staff out this is the way to go.
@Mr_Andrew_Fox@dan_villafan Both Wales and Italy made that decision for me. Have to admit the ethical integrity of Italy the past 2 world cups has also been exceptional…
@StuartLock Movement from implications and lessons of large amounts of data towards “case studies” is a worry. One person’s anecdote can be quite close to another’s case study.
@StuartLock@Yorkshire_Steve@greeborunner@adamboxer1@amymayforrester It’s quite sad and I too thought that the wealth of evidence behind the curriculum focus would mean that the genie couldn’t be put back in its bottle, but it seems that the zombieland of the early noughties is returning….: and my interpretive dance isn’t what it used to be….
It's really telling that, having inspected around 250 secondary schools, that @Ofstednews have yet to identify a single school with low or very low levels of prior attainment that have achievement that is worthy of others coming to see how they manage it.
