3 years ago, I was about to launch my own game console. I designed it based on the @arduino Zero (@MicrochipTech SAMD21). It had a 4ch 8bit audio engine, 128x128 OLED display, a vibration motor, a pseudo-OS to load games from µSD. First PCB from @oshpark, then PCBA from @MacroFab
@RDKLInc@eevblog These are usually regulatory and certifications effort costs. Even in country where healthcare is virtually cheaper or more accessible.
The only sustainable way for these devices (that can’t be replaced by low-tech) is reusability, but refurbishing is also expensive…

@rheingoldheavy « DFM Now! » from Numerical Innovation. The free version is fast and convenient for gerber review. The paid version lets you do some edit and similar stuff.
@lethalbit Silicon Labs EFM32 because the HAL is very easy to use and the doc is great for both hard and software. IDE is ok (eclipse based) and has great features (power analysis and network analysis tools). EFR32 are great too for wireless. Super energy efficient
@somejkiv@timonsku Or you could maybe use Google’s protobuf? I think it’s more or less the goal of this lib, I’ve not tested it yet though. It should handle everything carefully.

I don’t know if they are available from Chinese distribution channels though. And might be pricey...
