Tesla has announced that it will increase production output at its Giga Berlin factory by another 20% to 7,500 vehicles per week starting in October of this year.
This is in addition to the 20% production output increase previously announced a few months ago.
Tesla will hire 1,000 additional employees by October for this new increase in production.
"3,500 additional jobs will be created in the short and medium term for vehicle and battery manufacturing at the plant," Tesla said.
@elonmusk 3、To address these challenges and capitalize on China’s 55%+ EV market penetration, I propose reducing the FSD price to ¥30,000 to drive adoption, enhance competitiveness, and align with local market dynamics.
@elonmusk Despite Tesla’s recent efforts, such as a one-month free trial (March 17 to April 16, 2025), high pricing (¥64,000), regulatory constraints, and intense competition from local brands like BYD and XPeng limit FSD’s market penetration.
@elonmusk Elon:
The Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature in China, launched on February 25, 2025, with software update 2024.45.32.12, currently has a low adoption rate of approximately 1-2%, significantly trailing the U.S. market’s ~20% take rate.
@knightworld@elonmusk This kind of landing improves the reliability by several orders of magnitude. Unlike a direct fall back, a hard collision will cause the aircraft to explode if it is not careful or disturbed.
@SawyerMerritt I estimate that many people in China will buy the 30,000 yuan FSD, which will change the current situation where less than 1% of people buy it!
