@whanda_gerardo I feel Lydia is like an abusive husband. She pulls you in with kindness, & then beats you and tells you you asked for it. Lydia needs to feel like she isn't evil by her actions and uses the handmaids as her beard. It "hurts" her (Lydia) to punish her girls, but it must be done.
