We don’t know 100% that our elections are secure. That’s the issue.

Even if it’s minimal, some elections come down to single digit votes. It’s important.

There are other issues that need solved. I agree. That doesn’t mean we can’t simultaneously address multiple issues. Fixing this doesn’t take away from other issues.

I don’t think you understand the basis of which this country was founded. It is 50 states with different needs and different laws. It is not the same as other countries.

IDs are needed to buy alcohol/tobacco, buy a gun, fly, rent a car, and so many other things. Why is voting the one thing that makes IDs bad?

@wvs22 @briannalyman2 You have to register to vote because the US is made of 50 separate states. You can’t have a person living in Texas registered to vote in California and influencing elections. Other countries don’t have this issue

90%+ of developed countries require some form of ID to vote.

I’m skeptical that people really find it that difficult, but for the sake of argument…

If we made it cheaper or even free to obtain an ID, would that change your mind?

My wife had zero problems changing her ID. A simple marriage certificate would was all she needed.

Transgender people can still get IDs. I don’t understand the argument there.
