Since you posted this, it’s been quite a ride in the meme coin world.

1. Within 20 minutes, the gentleman you replied to had created the $OIL coin on @pumpdotfun and turned $500 into $100k

2. Within in an hour, $OIL generated over $100M in trading volume, much of which is generated by wash trading bots

3. In that same time, a derivative coin $GOLD was created as a vampire attack on the $OIL meme, branded with the same photo of you but referencing a post you had made over a month ago. You’ll see this one in your replies — being pushed by extractive influencers (KOLs) whose business model is accumulating a large supply of microcap coins for pennies on the dollar, shilling them to their followers, then dumping their supply into the buy volume they generate. Neat.

4. Within 2 hours, $OIL reached a $27M market cap and began a natural retracement, which is typically 60-80%

5. Just as the downtrend broke and the price had reversed, the $ALON coin (named after pumpfun founder @a1lon9) was pumping to over $200M, causing massive FOMO and a liquidity vacuum across the Solana meme market, causing traders to rush in and buy the top, selling off the $OIL market cap from $11M to $3M in a matter of minutes

6. Scammers took over the coin’s listing on @dexscreener, adding a link to a scam Telegram channel, causing confusion among holders and additional FUD, driving a further sell off to a low of $1.4M mc

6. Control of the @dexscreener listing has been taken back from the scammers, and the price of digital $OIL may finally be recovering
