My 17 yo daughter went on a school trip to DC this summer. She is generally risk adverse and won't venture out. For 5 days and nights she ventured in and around DCwith and without the chaperone. They used the metro extensively. When I asked if she felt safe she said "yes, it was clean, very little homeless, and a ton of police and national guard visible. Thank you!
