@garonnevik I’m an only, my husband has 2 sisters. When we married we joked we wanted 4 boys just like the pastor & his wife had. We have 3 boys & 2 girls & we love them all! Between the siblings & all the cousins we have the largest # of kids so far…but family reunions & holidays are fun!
@courtneyellis The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion (all 8 of them!) but I also read The Count of Monte Cristo, so…that about covers it for my summmer!
@HootenWilson I have been contemplating why the gods don’t seem to be present. Athena may be a figment of his mind. Poseidon is only name-dropped. Zeus is known only by his law. Maybe Nolan is projecting a people (in Odysseus) who have forgotten there is another realm besides the physical.
THIS is the Odyssey review I have been waiting for! Thank you for showing how it appeals to our “noblest sensibilities” @HootenWilson https://t.co/m7ED3oQplc
@suzania Go see it. It’s not Homer’s Odyssey but one with AD values. It’s implied Calypso drugged him & he was “happy” w/ her, but the only time the movie actually suggests relations are with his wife. His men on the other hand…well. Troy was not just murder for them.
@keeper_orchard Just across the state line in SE AL is Slocomb, the “tomato capitol of the world” where they grow Globes commercially, but I grew up near there and we grew Big Boys, I think, & some Cherokee purples. It’s about soil, ripening on the vine, & hand-picking. You can’t beat ‘em!
@FreddyLA7 Hi Freddy! Glad you are still enjoying our beautiful country! North Carolina mountains are also worth visiting. And if you haven’t yet been to the Florida Gulf Coast anywhere between Apalachicola & Pensacola, you really must see the white sands & emerald waters! Enjoy!
