Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it.

Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying.

Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence."

Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter."

Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter.

They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created.

One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility."

Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies.

That's the metered intelligence business model.

And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.

The idea that capitalism creates wealth while the state merely redistributes it is nonsense.

I do think capitalist dynamics play an important role in innovation and entrepreneurial disruption — one of Joseph Schumpeter’s central insights.

But there are so many important examples where the state acted as *the* entrepreneur.

In South Korea, the state created industrial capabilities that did not previously exist. POSCO is a perfect example: a steel company created by the state in the 1960s and only privatised after it had become highly competitive.

In the United States, much of the entrepreneurial risk-taking also comes from the state. In fact, foundational technologies that make up the iPhone emerged from state-backed and defense-related innovation ecosystems, such as DARPA.

Singapore is another example, where the state — especially through Temasek Holdings — is deeply embedded in the innovation ecosystem through ownership, R&D, and investment.

Many of the world’s greatest successes in wealth creation and innovation have been built on foundations actively designed, funded, and led by the state.

In the opinion piece, Konrad Yakabuski attacks Jewish members of the NDP as being antisemitic. He makes the argument that anti-Zionism in 2026 is antisemitism. He says that the NDP has a problem with antisemitism because Wab Kinew opposed the war in Iran.

The real problem here is that The Globe and Mail has an anti-Palestinian bias. They regularly attack pro-Palestinian voices, including myself. They aim to discredit the struggle for Palestinian human rights while vigorously defending Israel whenever they can.

Canadian media bias has never been so evident—accusing Jewish political leaders of being antisemitic. I was not surprised to see Rebel News go down that path, explicitly labeling Avi Lewis as a “self hating jew” but many of us expect better from The Globe and Mail, a major Canadian newspaper. While their words are softer their message and bias is the same.

We are pleased that the CBC Ombud has issued a landmark decision upholding our complaints regarding CBC's false claims that Israel’s occupation of Gaza “ended” in 2005.

For years, CBC has repeatedly reported that “Israel's military occupation of the territory ended” in 2005. However, this is a settled question in international law: Israel’s occupation of Gaza never ended, due to its ongoing effective control over the territory.

In a direct rebuke of CBC editorial staff, the CBC Ombud sided with our complaint, finding that CBC failed to meet the “criteria for accuracy” in the ethical codes that guide its journalism. An editor's note and a correction were added to the original story.

This review helps ensure that CBC News will now have to be honest about Israel’s longstanding occupation of Gaza, rather than obscuring it. This victory provides media advocates with a key new decision to reference when arguing for better from our media.

And it's precisely people like you - whose ideology is, unfortunately, that of the majority of European elites - who did immense, irreparable harm to Europe.

It's now beyond painfully obvious that if Europe had at least applied basic common-sense precautionary principles and told itself that maybe, just maybe, it was insanely dangerous to bet the prosperity and security of 450 million Europeans on the assumption that the most aggressive, interventionist power in modern history would forever make an exception for Europe - we might still have some sovereignty left.

This isn't an "extreme left" vs others thing (and the fact you think it is shows you still don't get it at all), it's just a logic vs dumb thing: how can you observe a country systematically destroying anyone who gets in its way over decades and conclude "yes, let's make ourselves entirely dependent on these people, what could possibly go wrong?"

That's not liberal sophistication. That's the dumbest bet in the history of geopolitics.
