Absolutely gutted for Croatia. They were far the better team, especially in the 2nd half & created the better chances, hit the post twice & a goal disallowed at the last minute of the match !
Senegal have only themselves to blame for this catastrophic result & the worst part is that Belgium isn't even a worthy side to go through.
Absolute shambles
Wtf have you done Senegal 😤
It's slways the same old problem with African teams after playing well, taking the lead & losing concentration the moment they were put under pressure & concede goals
Their grpup stage performance might be unconvincing or even lucky to get to the KO round, but #Senegal 🇸🇳 has no shortage of talent & they should be all over this clueless Belgium side !
England survived what would've been a generational embarrassment only because they've Harry Kane 🫡
Congo 🇨🇩 should be so damn proud of themselves for the quality, resilience & character they've showed in the game👏👏👏
@GirmachewK@ahoworth97 I've noticed that, too. They were extremely biased throughout the 1st half, but I can't say that I'm surprised considering all the commentators are brits
Democratic republic of Congo with an incredible perf in the 1st half & they could've led by 2 goals instead of one. England looks nervous & the DRC keeper is unbelievable 🙆♂️
Mexico at the World Cup so far 💥🇲🇽
🧱 𝟏𝟎 World Cup games at Estadio Atzeca
🔐 𝟎 goals conceded in four games in this World Cup.
💥 𝟒 wins in 4 games and also 8 goals scored so far.
🐐 First team to start with four (!) clean sheet wins at World Cup since Italy in 1990.
Watching this french team is so exhilarating. Even before the WC begins, it was obvious that no back line can withstand the relentless threat & creativity they pose upfront, and now they're just taking the piss on everyone
This picture means something to an entire generation of Dutch people.
I'm one of them.
My parents came to Holland as Moroccan immigrants.
I was born there.
Dutch passport.
Dutch better than my Arabic.
The first 18 years of my life, Holland fed me, schooled me, raised me.
The Moroccans helped rebuild Holland.
Holland gave them roads, schools, a future in return.
Fair trade.
But we never really integrated.
That's not on one side.
That's on everyone.
We learned to speak for our grandparents, because they never got to learn the language.
We brought our food.
We brought our culture. Mosques. Books and humor.
We had fun.
We hung out.
We went to each other's weddings and loved the mix of it.
And still.
We never really became one.
The politicians made sure to categorize us.
They needed us to be outsiders, while we were busy acting like insiders.
So a wall went up between neighbors.
Then yesterday a silly game with a ball put two teams on the same grass.
Two continents.
Two cultures.
Except they're not two teams.
They're teams stitched together by the same life.
The Dutch know the Moroccans. Intimately.
The Moroccans know the Dutch. Intimately.
The Moroccans in Morocco spend every summer selling to the Moroccans from Holland.
The Dutch spend every day next to Moroccans. In School. At The local butcher. The streets.
The Moroccan team is full of Moroccans carrying Dutch passports.
The Dutch team is full of their actual friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
Such a simple game.
Such a complicated story.
When I look at this image I don't see football.
I see high school.
I see pride.
I see distance.
I don't see compassion.
I see resentment.
And that's exactly how we lived in beautiful Holland.
Together. Happily.
And quietly, unconsciously, apart.
I left when I was 18.
I went back to Morocco.
I resented Holland.
For years it was me vs them.
Now I understand what I actually have.
I can read two cultures from the inside.
And I get to choose.
What I carry with me.
What I leave behind.
Because every culture has its gold.
And every culture has its rot.
The trick is knowing which is which.
Love. Be kind to each other.
Brazil looks absolutely cluless on how to deal with a very smart & effective Japanese performance.
Watching zombies like Casemiro & Danilo in a Brazil shirt starting at a knock-out WC match hurts like no other
It's a huge achievement for all 9 of the Continents finest to make into the 2nd round, but now, this is where the real-world cup starts for everyone !!!

Well... that came out of the blue.
If it happens, then it's a total change of approach from the hierarchies, allowing a manager to sign his preferred targets since the takeover.
This move has certainly Alonso behind it !
🚨🔵 BREAKING: Granit Xhaka can be Chelsea surprise signing in midfield. 🇨🇭
The midfielder wants to re-join Xabi Alonso and has expressed desire to return to London…
…accepting any contract condition just to join #CFC, reunite with Xabi and go back to London. Deal on.
