Al-Shifa Centre for Community Ophthalmology (ACCO), in line with its mission of reaching out to the unreached, conducted a one-day eye surgical camp at Adyala Jail, Rawalpindi.

A total of 675 OPD patients were screened for any vision problems and 14 Surgeries were performed. A total of 41 patients were referred to base hospital for further treatment. Additionally, 452 eye glasses and 162 specialised eye glasses were distributed to patients requiring visual aids for enhanced visual acuity. 788 free eye medicines were distributed among those requiring medicines for treatment. Furthermore, 101 patients were screened for Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension.

With every passing day, Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital takes one step forward to further its mission of eliminating blindness from Pakistan.

Our little warrior Zohaib visited us and was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at a very tender age. Feeling helpless, his parents sought immediate treatment. After undergoing eight chemotherapy sessions and a surgery, he is now recovering well and is living a life where he can explore multiple prospects with a renewed sense of hope.
