This flood control funding Senator and his colleagues are enjoying the food paid for by the people. Strangely, they were supposed to be on a lockdown but are indeed enjoying food and the limelight as they went on live broadcasts individually at the height of the Senate lockdown.

He cites the law referencing the attempted arrest of the now-fugitive Senator Bato dela Rosa by NBI operatives following declassification of the ICC warrant for his arrest for crimes against humanity.

Villanueva cites article 145 of the RPC involving parliamentary immunity. What he conveniently omits is the fact that there is an exception:

— The penalty does not apply if the lawmaker has committed crime that is punishable by a penalty higher than prision mayor (6-12 years imprisonment) if found guilty). As for Bato and Duterte, 30 years to life imprisonment is staring at them if found guilty.

They twist the law to protect their own kind and support impunity.
