Can’t wait to be using 𝕏 in 10 years to xeet angrily at a member of the Saudi Royal family about how he is mismanaging the Chicago Bulls worse than Reinsdorf while I’m inside an air conditioned basement with no windows because it’s 125 degrees outside in Portland with a 350 AQI
@esidery Good on Illinois for not caving and giving handouts to Billionaires. Call their bluff. Illinois should raise toll prices near by and turn Soldier Field into a better event venue to “compete” with Hammond.
This is happening because McCaskey cannot afford to operate a big city team. He should sell to a billionaire who can. He doesn’t want to be the one who sold the family team. Instead he’s the one who moves them to Indiana; he doesn’t realize that’s a much worse legacy for himself.
Example: 4 friends are driving up from St Louis for the Beyoncé show at the Hammond Stadium and plan to stay the weekend.
Where are they going to stay? Hammond? Munster? Gary? Or Chicago….
This deal will screw people in Indiana. All these stadium hand outs to billionaires never offer return on investment. This one more so. They get about 8 games of Bears revenue a year. They want to book major events but still have to compete with Chicago + Chicago hotels.
