This music I hear when I can no longer hold back the crying for my mother's departure. This song is your mom and I hear it because you were so important to me. Thank you so much @alterbridge

Reposted @thelegendsofmusic Chuck Berry playing “Wee Wee Hours” Live on the 20th of November, 1965 in France
“Wee Wee Hours” was written as a twelve-bar blues song and it’s well noted for the exceptional piano work from Lonnie Johnson. The song was on the audition tape submitted by Berry to Leonard Chess in hope of landing a recording contract with Chess Records. While the record company liked the song, they were more interested in “Maybellene” and chose that to be his first single, which ended up becoming the song that launched Berry’s career as a rock and roll star. Instead the song was chosen as the B-side of “Maybellene,” which was released on the Chess label, May 21, 1955. The inspiration for this track came from Frank Sinatra’s “In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning” and Chuck aimed to pay tribute to Frank and one his favorite singers of all time, Nat King Cole.
