Ontario Premier Ford's legacy is that he said one thing on supporting hospitals, ERs and long-term care, but he did another. It was just empty words and the electorate forgets this at their own increasing peril.

My July 5th Diatribe after Returning from Europe again:
The weirdest thing about leaving America is realizing how much of America is just a sales pitch.
You spend your whole life hearing “greatest country on Earth,” then you go overseas and see clean trains, safer streets, affordable medicine, cities where people can walk without playing Frogger with an SUV, and workers who take vacations without acting like they committed treason.
And then you come home.
You come home to potholes, medical debt, school shooting drills, $17 airport sandwiches, people living in tents under highways, politicians wearing flag pins (or worse, gun pins) while doing absolutely nothing for the people standing in food bank lines, and billionaires being treated like they’re the fragile ones.
And somehow we’re all supposed to stand there, hand over heart, and pretend this is normal.
I don’t hate America. I hate what America has been taught to tolerate.
I hate that we call basic things “radical.” Healthcare? Radical. Paid leave? Radical. Clean air? Radical. Kids not getting shot in math class? Somehow political.
Meanwhile, the loudest “patriots” are usually the same people telling struggling Americans to shut up, stop complaining, and be grateful.
Grateful for what? A flag doesn’t pay rent. A bald eagle doesn’t cover insulin. Fireworks don’t fix bridges. And chanting “USA” doesn’t make a broken system less broken.
America has incredible people. That’s the tragedy. The people are better than the system they’ve been forced to defend.
So no, I’m not going to call America the greatest country on Earth just because it has the best marketing department.
Real patriotism isn’t pretending the country is perfect.
Real patriotism is being angry that it isn’t, and blaming minorities and immigrants for your own piece of shit life that you created.
Yes, THANK YOU Elizabeth May for explaining and posting truth…
We all know that Poilievre and his ReformaCONS are spreaders of lies, misinformation and propaganda!
This photo deserves a Pulitzer Prize.
Not only does it represent our current state of politics but it mirrors many photos of past which confirm the ugly truth about progress…
It must be fought for by every generation.
Listen up Fuckface: This “you’re either with me or you’re a communist” crap is just textbook authoritarian bullshit.
Teaching history isn’t “attacking the future.” Propaganda is.
And you’ve been serving it up nonstop, you demented fucking douche nozzle.
@MarcNixon24 Well I expect PM to fly everywhere in Canada and around the globe as leader of our country and G7 and this is part of job. Now the PP, LOO has absolutely no business flying everywhere on tax payers dime to make hokey videos and bash PMMC/Canada! So where’s outrage about loser PP?
Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of Americans signed their names to a piece of parchment and made a promise no nation had ever made before: that we're all created equal, endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights — life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We're the only nation in history built not on ethnicity, or blood, or geography but on an idea. That's always been what makes us exceptional. We chose that path 250 years ago but that’s where the work began, not where it ended. Every generation has had to choose it again. At Valley Forge, at Gettysburg, on the beaches of Normandy, in the streets of Selma. Americans recommitted themselves to the principles on which our nation was founded.
Now it's our turn.
There's nothing guaranteed about our democracy. We have to fight for it, defend it, and earn it. Over and over, year after year. That's not a burden. That's what it means to be an American.
250 years in, we still haven't fully lived up to those words in the Declaration. But we've never walked away from them, and this July 4, I hope all of us can commit to one thing: that we never will. I don't believe we're as divided as we're told we are. I've bet my whole life on the American people, and I'm not stopping now.
Happy 250th birthday, America. Our story isn't finished. Let's keep writing it together.
250 years after July 4, 1776, the successor of King George III pays taxes and publishes his returns. The successor of George Washington does not. https://t.co/CbIXDe8UQY
Ontario Conservatives war on the poor began in 1997 when Mike Harris, introduced the Social Assistance Reform Act that required #ODSP persons to work for benefits, then cut benefits by 20%. In 2018 Ford continue with 21.6% cut to benefits. https://t.co/GS7tKc51sz
When asked why he left the Conservative party Joe Clark replied "I never left the Conservative party, the Conservative Party left me". I am one of many who left during Harpers 2nd term. You could see the writing on the wall..
Rav has farmed this land for years and her message is clear: Highway 413 will destroy some of the best soil in the world and it's soil that can never be replaced. We're at McVean Farm in Brampton, standing on the kind of land we simply cannot afford to lose.
It's time to stop Highway 413 and create a Foodbelt to protect our precious farmland and support the farmers who feed us.

I was @jamiljivani's opponent in the last election. Retired after 31 years of work with the same employer, I served thousands of students & their families. My husband and I will celebrate 30 years of marriage this month. Our 3 adult daughters all finished school. We nursed our youngest through a critical illness. I have belonged to my current parish for the past 30 years and my home parish for 20 years before that. I am active in my community. None of this makes me better than he is, or anyone else is for that matter. I have been very fortunate in my life. But if by Liberal degeneracy he means defending equal rights, having compassion & loving the distinctive nature of 🇨🇦 then I guess that we're guilty. His gaslighting imported culture wars are not helpful and frankly unbecoming of a Member of Parliament. #Bowmanville #Oshawa #Clarington
