@dignityindying Many thanks to you, Lauren, and a special note of gratitude to everyone working tirelessly to bring these moments to life. Your hard work is truly appreciated.
@Bdhital84@DermotKearney3@MaryTracy1101@JuJu4dignity@MJRobinson1571 From that point he effectively starved to death. The pain and suffering he experienced, was awful. If that were to happen to me, I want options. I don't want to go through that. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
@Bdhital84@DermotKearney3@MaryTracy1101@JuJu4dignity@MJRobinson1571 My father had palliative care at home. A special bed and various aids provided by Macmillan. A stair lift that we rented. Daily visits either by Macmillan, a local nurse or a doctor. Eventually morphine syringe drivers. When the cancer got to his stomach he couldn't eat any more.
@Bdhital84@DermotKearney3@MaolanF@MaryTracy1101@JuJu4dignity@MJRobinson1571 It resists change because the entry requirement is tethered to an objective biological countdown (6 months to live), it cannot legally be interpreted to include chronic illnesses, disabilities, or mental health conditions. /9
@Bdhital84@DermotKearney3@MaryTracy1101@JuJu4dignity@MJRobinson1571 Palliative care isn't the answer for everyone, it's not always effective. And not everyone wants to end their life in a hospiceโsome people want to be in their own home with their family and pets.

@DermotKearney3@MaolanF@MaryTracy1101@JuJu4dignity@MJRobinson1571 That is patently false. I have personal experience of watching my father's slow and very painful exit from this world to know there are limits to what medical drugs can do.
You aren't listening to the voices of terminally ill people who are asking for this.
