@goldstone_tony@medicaccountant@MedicsMoney Thanks, great podcast.
Recently started as a consultant on 11PA job plan and in 2015 section pension.
Considering salary sacrifice car lease. Wondering if the gross lease deduction is less than the gross income of the additional PA there's still a reduction in pensionable pay?
@DrEmmaNash @ShaunLintern appalling admission that your medical education & training was so poor that you were functionally incompetent in the practice of medicine and had to rely on non- doctors to vicariously practice medicine through your license.
To be a "team player" you must do something that the GMC/MPTS (and common sense) would consider unsafe medical practice and jeopardise your licence 😡
No, the responsibility to prescribe rests solely with the agreed supervising consultant.
🔴A snarky Physician Assistant on Registrar rota has indirectly bullied the F2 Junior Doctor to prescribe clot busters drug ( Alteplase ) for stroke patient ☠️💀
⛔️High risk of causing intracranial bleeding
⛔️Doctors must refuse to prescribe for the unregulated PAs
⛔️?Strange
@DrHuw what do you expect? Medical care quality or safety are more difficult to measure. Activity numbers and cost outlays are easy to tabulate on spreadsheets for DHSC & HMT and the consultancy firms they regularly send round. Also generates headlines for politicians.
@DrHuw -quicker and cheaper to train than docs
-can be shoehorned to fill any specialty service need without limits on scope from day 1
-cheaper than senior regs or consultant docs
-can't escape overseas as not internationally recognised (or to independent UK private practice)
@Beska@ollieburtonmed one of our least favourite things is having to double report when asked by other clinicians bc the teleradiology report quality is questionable. Obviously we're not given any time & pay for that.
@ShaunLintern@nottmhospitals wait I thought @FrankCoffey26, the Head of Service of the Emergency Department at NUH, said they had loads of non-doctors on the rota.
why do they need more 'doctors' on the A&E rota for when the shit hits the fan?
@PWildebest@sunriseblade@danielgoyal GP visits are covered free for Canadians. NHS already has loads of medical services not covered - basically dentistry, aural care, most cutting edge treatments lol

The @nottmhospitals board was warned last month that shortages of nurses and doctors in A&E was a key risk meaning the hospital was struggling to “safely respond to increased demand".
@PWildebest@sunriseblade@danielgoyal need higher taxes for demography & a gov that's competent to manage a functioning health service. France, Germany, low countries & Nordics manage fine.
either way I'm an accelerationist & welcome NHS collapse. it's awful quality care & I'd make more money when we go full private
@sunriseblade@danielgoyal Canada have a universal tax funded healthcare system that's free at the point of use - called Medicare.
They just don't have a corrupt and incompetent Tory government.
