Modern culture tells men to put their wives on a throne. Scripture tells wives to honor their husbands as their earthly lords.

The Bible never once calls a wife a "queen." But it does point us to Sarah, who "obeyed Abraham, calling him lord" (1 Peter 3:6).
It also describes holy women as those who "were subject to their own husbands" (1 Peter 3:5).

God did not design marriage as two equal rulers negotiating power. He established an order. The husband is called to lead. The wife is called to submit. The husband is the head. The wife is the helper.

For decades, men have been told, "Happy wife, happy life," "Treat her like a queen," and "Worship the ground she walks on." The results speak for themselves. Marriage has not become stronger by abandoning God's design.

A wife flourishes when she gladly follows her husband's leadership, just as a husband flourishes when he leads with wisdom, strength, and sacrificial love.

God's pattern is not outdated.

It is timeless.
