@ScrapDogg1979 @EricEdmeades@jordanbpeterson The Younger Dryas impact hypothesis is completely fringe. The leading hypothesis in terms of support is overkill and/or climate change depending on the species in question.
@JediFoolish@jonkay Health care, police, fire, EMS, transit workers etc. all essential. GOV could easily do it but won't because they know it will be a net loss for them. Currently they can convince a large group of voters lies like βTheir wages have grown out of proportion with the private sector.β
@JediFoolish@jonkay make striking illegal without replacing it with a method that allows a fair contract to be determined (ie arbitration). The Ford government has no interest in doing things properly, and you should ask yourself why that is. The same goes for the rest of the nonsense you believe.
@JediFoolish@jonkay The government could easily stop education workers from striking - they could designate them an essential service - which would take away the right to strike. Perfectly legal and supported by most Ontarians. What is not legal is what the current group of Conservatives try to do:
@JediFoolish@jonkay A strike is a labour stoppage, so asking why people strike at the legally designated time is pretty dumb. Governments could take away the right to strike from teachers by designating them essential, but they won't because they are afraid it would lead to much higher wages.
@JustinPogge @whoz2say@Totally_Offside@CorsiHL The Leafs have screwed up every aspect of Sandin's development, and then made their worst trade in decades. Fans who care about the team every winning (it won't) should have been concerned about both, instead of their pure cult infatuation with Dubas.
@Coleman42@amato_mike The graphic you saw was stupid. A D who plays far, far more than the other Ds is going to have the most scoring chances against in almost every case. If you don't take ice time into consideration then the claim is completely useless and deceiving.
@ReeseBeLeaf @sal_nhl And OZone starts has close to zero impact on xGF% for players.
xGF% is mainly a product of the team you play on and the xGF% was way higher with Sandin on the ice than off.
Enjoy your cognitive dissonance.
@ReeseBeLeaf @sal_nhl No one in the NHL maintains a 2 pt/g level of production, so that is a pure red-herring. 7 of Sandin's 8 points occured with shifts that started on the fly (the other occured after an in-shift faceoff) which is not surprising as the vast majority of shifts start on the fly.
@whoz2say@Totally_Offside@CorsiHL He is only critical of Dubas because he thinks Dubas is playing 4D chess and doesn't yet understand the strategy. There was no strategy in the Sandin trade. Whole TDL strategy was just a hail mary. Not saying all the moves were bad, but needing to make a bunch of moves at TDL is.
@whoz2say@Totally_Offside@CorsiHL True, we don't know for sure, but when a player is traded within 24 hours of another player joining the team and taking their spot, as was the case for Leivo and Sandin - the latter being shopped to several teams that morning - you can be as close to sure as one gets.
@Totally_Offside@whoz2say@CorsiHL Sandin didn't cave - which is why he has managed to get away from a coach and GM who were going to destroy every bit of potential he had.
You are a total Dubas homer which is why you continue to try to find some magical reason. The reality is that Dubas was stuck with his mess.
@Totally_Offside@whoz2say@CorsiHL The glasses you are wearing when you look at Dubas are the rosiest of the rose colour glasses. Sandin had plently of cards, and had more power than at any point in the negotiations. For starters he could have just made any trade request public.
@Totally_Offside@whoz2say@CorsiHL Yes, if you had that option that is what you would generally do. Perhaps Dubas tried to work Sandin into the McCabe deal but CHI wasn't interested. Perhaps Dubas didn't think that he would be pressed to honour his agreement to trade Sandin until the summer.
@whoz2say@Totally_Offside@CorsiHL Sandin's hold out got him exactly what he actually wanted - which was a guarentee that if he was not playing - traded immediately. Sandin's agent was likely calling Dubas within minutes of hearing of the McCabe trade and demanding that Dubas make good on his agreement b4 the TDL
@whoz2say@Totally_Offside@CorsiHL It is almost 100% guarenteed that there was an agreement. When Sandin signed he had all the cards, as the Leafs had a number of D injuries, yet people think it was Sandin who completely folded the minute he had all the power. Extremely unlikly.
@Coleman42@amato_mike In his 4 games with Washington he has been on for the second lowest SCA/60 among the 8 Caps D who have played, but don't let that interfere with your cognitive dissonance.
