This is sick. Why do you all insist on revictimizing the child? @grok confirm that Ken Paxton’s office prosecuted Hoffman for a felony that would have sent him to prison for life. Confirm that five of the jurors voted to acquit the defendant resulting in a mistrial. Confirm that when the 30-year prosecutor informed the victim’s family she was going to retry the case they informed her the child would no testify a second time. Confirm that Mrs Cantu had no physical evidence, no corroborating witnesses, and no victim testimony and was forced to try to convince the defendant to plead guilty to a lesser charge. Confirm that the defendant would have been able to present the victim’s false testimony in a second trial and without the victim’s testimony it would have been impossible to secure a conviction. Finally, confirm Paxton had no involvement in the case and had never met the defendant.
I will never forget that James Talarico sponsored legislation to EXPLICITLY teach DEI in Texas schools. Not math. Not reading. DIVERSITY, EQUITY, and INCLUSION propaganda. While China teaches their kids engineering, Talarico wants ours learning pronouns. LOSER.
It’s fitting that a brainwashed and easily manipulated electorate voted for a guy who calls himself “MAGA” Mayes Middleton over Chip Roy. We have seen this play out in several elections lately, where good men and representatives get smeared with lies in the name of not being loyal to Trump and his ilk.
Sadly, it becomes the people that live in these districts and states that lose out in the end, all because of cult like behavior.
I’m struggling as I write this today. I’ve labored alongside @chiproytx from his first campaign through today (& will in the future, I’m convinced God isn’t going to bench Chip Roy!). He is the embodiment of everything we as Republicans, especially conservatives, say we want in an elected official. To keep his campaign promises, directly uphold and defend the constitution (& our rights therein), and fiercely fight for our principles, get policy wins, & refuse to bow to special
interests or cave to leadership if it’s the wrong thing to do.
Chip Roy has done all of the above with integrity, grit, & shrewdness. Staffers and his colleagues who have worked with him will tell you he’s a brilliant strategist and the brains behind most conservative wins in congress.
You will be sorely missed in congress and we lament you won’t be our next Texas Attorney General. I still believe you’re the best choice in this unique time when Texas needs you most.
Thank you for your sacrifices, your tireless efforts on our behalf, for never forgetting your constituents back home, for defending us when no one else would, and for being someone I consider a dear friend and warrior in the fight for FREEDOM. While I wish success to @mayes_middleton because Texas needs him to succeed, I lament losing our best and brightest in the most consequential battles of our time.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention, the first communication I received on July 4th last year during the devastating flood that nearly destroyed our community and came very near to our home was from Chip. He immediately reached out to see if we were all okay. I will never forget that. It meant so much to me then, but even more to us now, in retrospect.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Chip. There aren’t words to express how deeply we appreciate you (Carah & the kids) and all you’ve done for us and the great state of Texas.
This isn’t good bye. Just the closing of a chapter. The book is still being written, and I hope you’ll come roaring back - because we need you! I’ll have your back! It’s been an honor.
@Shawn_Farash Shawn, Middleton bought the election with $17M from his five man oil company piggy bank. Let’s hope a guy with no legal experience can run a 750 lawyer organization. He will never fill Paxton’s shoes.
I get asked a lot who I am supporting, so here are my picks for today's Republican primary election.
@KenPaxtonTX Ken Paxton for US Senate.
@chiproytx Chip Roy for Attorney General
@bofrench Bo French for Railroad Commission
@smithfortx Thomas Smith for Court of Criminal Appeals Place 3
