‼️ ANY MEDIA WE SEE FROM ANY ORGANIZATION WITH BUREAUS IN CHINA…IS OUTPUT THATS BEEN APPROVED BY THE COMMUNIST PARTY. ‼️ Mary and Michael (two great Americans I’ve had the pleasure to work with in the fight against China) are spot-on with their analysis of the media’s coverage of China. Lingling still has family living in China. That’s always an important ‘tell’ to determine if what’s being written is ‘true’ or objective. A journalist can’t write anything the regime doesn’t approve of without putting themselves, their family, and their organization at risk. In early 2024, the Wall Street Journal completely disbanded their U.S.-based China team because their journalists were so good that the truth began to be written under this team…and Beijing pushed back. The WSJ had to fire all of them (30 journalists dedicated to investigating China - from Washington DC).

In 2020, Chinese authorities revoked the press credentials and ordered three Wall Street Journal journalists to leave the country after publishing a controversial piece that Beijing hated. The three journalists were:
1.Josh Chin — Deputy Bureau Chief (U.S. national)
2.Chao Deng — Reporter (U.S. national)
3.Philip Wen — Reporter (Australian national)

None of these journalists were involved in writing the column that sparked the dispute, which was titled “China Is the Real Sick Man of Asia.” The article printed truth and China’s Communist Party wasn’t going to allow it again.

ANYTHING you see Bloomberg News write out of China must be seen as ‘APPROVED BY THE COMMUNIST PARTY’. After Bloomberg published a high-profile 2012 investigation into the personal finances of Xi Jinping and other leaders…and strong reporting on elite corruption amid the Bo Xilai saga..:the Chinese government punished Bloomberg’s news operations in a number of ways. These included blocking the Bloomberg News website in mainland China, prohibiting state enterprises from subscribing to its news service, and making it impossible to obtain visas for foreign journalists for a period.
•Bloomberg editors decided to shelve or kill other stories that would further anger Chinese authorities, with internal and external reports suggesting that senior leadership worried the company would lose access or be pushed out entirely if it pushed certain investigations. Bloomberg had to plead with the Chinese Communist Party (under a new ‘understanding’ with the CCP) to be turned back on with China.

If news organizations have bureaus inside the Great Wall, China’s Ministry of State Security has thugs embedded with all of them. When Eunice Noon is on the air with CNBC in China, there are multiple MSS goons on each side of her just off of the camera’s view. If she says anything controversial, they will have her physically removed from the set.

Understanding that the media emanating from news organizations with a presence in China or from journalists whose families still reside in China is simply what the CCP wants you to read should help frame how we all consume their output in the future.
