@markdixon100@gerardtbaker As an American who played rugby once I was done with football, it only took a couple games to make the adjustment. In one rugby tournament, I played 3 full games in a single day. It's really not as big a difference as you think.
@hcafcharrison Harry, you wouldn't know how to hang with a pledge, much less a sixth year senior. You don't know shit if you don't think we had foreign nationals for the fun of it. It took them a semester or two to catch up. It's funny you think we drink beer.
@hcafcharrison Oh, bless your heart. We had a Bosnian and a couple of Brits in the fraternity. I've been to Scotland and Germany, too. Trust me when I say this: you really overestimate yourself.
@GHMD22@ingelramdecoucy Finally someone found a useful contribution to society could come from Philadelphia sports fans. This discovery is worthy of a Nobel prize.
Dear black folks,
Okay… have a seat… there’s something we really need to discuss.
*leans in* You know… we really don’t have to stand with Karmelo Anthony because he’s black. Like, we can just either keep quiet and let the justice system do its thing, or… even better… we can side with the actual victim.
This whole “even if Karmelo is guilty, I’m gonna support him” attitude is exactly why black folks are given side eye all over the world. We have to stop making martyrs out of people who don’t deserve it.
My heroes are my heroes despite their skin color. I look up to men like Clarence Thomas, Dr. Ben Carson, and Dr Thomas Sowell not because they’re black, but because they’re great men. Let’s find more like them.
Hugs, only because I say this out of love. Well, not hugs for all of you. You know who you are…

@egr_investor Let's say you're 40 with 2 kids. $5m investments probably 50/50 Brokerage vs retirement accounts you can't touch until 65. That's ~$100k per year before any tax is assessed. $30k for insurance. $15k taxes. $4600/mo spend.
@HamptonPrezcott Turner field was in an unsafe and difficult to access spot that the average braves fan would rather avoid. The battery was an area that was going to be revitalized regardless, the stadium just became the focal point. If there's other franchises facing similar, it would work.
@Deshpacito661@Kaipullay Sounds like the agent was trying to steer them in the direction of the lower crime areas so their employees would not end up living in the dangerous neighborhoods.
@levie I've been saying for a while that it will be like the advent of computers. "There will be less paperwork" "what will happen to secretaries"
Certain careers might disappear, but many more will be created.
@buccocapital I dunno, man, I get pretty good stuff out of claude. You have to edit things here and there, but cowork is like having a decent junior level employee who's about to earn a promotion.
@mhp_guy Just fwiw, I paid ~$60/sq ft on my recent project of finishing my basement. That's all in including paying a GC for everything but paint and flooring (timing of those would've raised the cost if I put that on the GC).
@EricSpracklen I don't think it's that exactly. Move in ready homes are still moving very fast at or above asking. I think the market hasn't priced in remodeling cost increases appropriately and buyers are well aware that even the most minor projects are going to cost tens of thousands.
@wingedPigBBQ@johnloeber The layoff, as best I could tell, was one particular idiot in finance who didn't have a clue how the company ran somehow brown nosed his way into the layoff discussions and put anyone who'd rightfully criticized his performance in amongst the list.
