Plot twist: instead of setting a Monday alarm, you set an out-of-office.

Two weeks on the Amalfi Coast. Phone on airplane mode. Inbox, someone else's problem.

Sunday reminder: you can't take it with you.

But you can take it to Kyoto in first class and come home with better stories.

Luxury travel, translated:

"I'm flexible on dates" = whenever the suite with the terrace is free
"Something simple" = a villa, a chef and a boat on standby
"Low-key trip" = nobody knows I'm in Santorini

We speak it fluently. Call [phone]

Our most serious complaint this year, from a guest in Bora Bora:

"The water was so clear I could see my own feet, and the fish outside the villa kept me from finishing my book."

They've already booked next year.

Lake Como
+ October light
+ a balcony
+ an espresso you didn't have to ask for twice
= the only math we've ever been good at.

Unpopular opinion: the view isn't the best part of a five-star hotel abroad.

It's the pillow menu you swear you don't need, then order from every single night.

Which hotel perk would you fight for?

the images coming out of Kharkiv right now may be the most heartbreaking yet. civilians laying dead in the streets still holding the jugs of water and bags of food they had run out to get

[max seddon @maxseddon]

I can't overstate how unprecedented this is. The ruble was at 25 to the dollar pre-2014 and 60 after the oil crash that year.

Most Russians don't have savings. 20m are in poverty. Migrants send remittances to Central Asia. It's ordinary people who will really suffer.

Next 24 hours are going to be rough, but the Ukrainian spirit will prevail

[Alex Rozentul @alxbrooklyn]

@maxseddon Can you tell us what this means please

[Alex Rozentul @alxbrooklyn]

@EugeneKatchalov Crazy

@TheRealDrFever might be a stupid question but is that the same as over 2,2.5?

[Alex Rozentul @alxbrooklyn]

@TheRealDrFever can you quickly explain the units to me? How do you get .19 for example. I see you are always betting at least .5 units

[Alex Rozentul @alxbrooklyn]
