NEVER FORGET WHAT THEY DID TO FANNIE LOU HAMER.
In 1963, Fannie Lou Hamer was arrested in Winona, Mississippi, after helping Black Americans register to vote. While in custody, she was brutally beaten by police and other prisoners under their direction. The injuries left her with lasting physical damage.
Her crime? Demanding a right that America claimed its citizens already had.
Hamer was a sharecropper who understood that the right to vote was about far more than casting a ballot. It was about having a voice in a country that had spent generations trying to keep Black people powerless.
They threatened her. They attacked her. They tried to make an example of her.
But she refused to be silent.
She went on to challenge the political system that excluded Black Americans, speaking before the nation at the 1964 Democratic National Convention and exposing the violence and discrimination Black voters faced in Mississippi.
Fannie Lou Hamer's story is a reminder that many of the rights people take for granted today were secured by people who paid an extraordinary price to demand them.
They wanted her to be afraid. Instead, she made America listen. History must never forget her name.
To keep these stories alive, we have uncovered and documented crimes against Black people that have remained unanswered.

Wrap this Savannah James shit uppppppp! The kids can’t read. Strait of Hormuz will probably never reopen. Truckers can’t afford gas. There’s a billionaire trying to be the Governor of Georgia. They’re trying to steal a mid-term election and lastly… THE KIDS CANT READ.
We will not be lectured by a generation who watched videos of kids playing the games they wanted to play or by the generation who watch live streams of people living the lives they want to live daily…
absolute blasphemy
Because no shade, but when the season started and Kerkering was one of our main relievers….. how do they not see that as a major problem from the jump lmao.
I’ve been saying the Phillies are an every other month team. One month they’re on fire/unstoppable and the next month, you want to bang your head against a wall every game. #Phillies
Literacy is becoming the new class divide. Not formal education, LITERACY. Many people can't grasp nuance, satire, or irony. Illiteracy limits how you read the world and the room. The gap between people who engage with complex ideas and those who consume clickbait is vast.
I still DO NOT understand how so many of you were hoodwinked into believing the government should not use the money you pay in taxes to create a social safety net that benefits you, fund public healthcare, lower housing costs, and make daily life more affordable.
Nobody hates Philadelphia athletes more than Philadelphia media & nobody hates Philadelphia media more than Philadelphia fans
WIP remains the absolute worst thing to happen to Philadelphia sports
I really need this AJ Brown conversation wrapped up by the end of the week. It was exhausting to hear the nonstop speculation all season/off season. Please. Enough!
There is more than enough food. There is more than enough housing. We could give everyone healthcare and education. But we let the greediest people on earth profit from it instead of providing for the people.
