@SNeurotypicals This! I think a lot of this disconnect that I have between the lived experience of Autism and the “genotype” actually lies in difference between disability or affirming conceptualizations. Does Autism need symptom improvement or neurotypicals create some space for diversity?
@GymRobcom Ableism is alive and well. 3rd MSW student from 🇨🇦 and over a decade working in MH care. It’s incredibly ironic the amount of neurodivergent individuals within our profession and yet there remains a perpetuated need to withhold these parts away from our professional selves.
@theprovince Combination of cost, culture and elitism. When team fees (beyond the program costs) are hundreds of dollars for 4 year olds just starting out, it’s not hard to see why numbers are dwindling.
Little fire tonight in trees/ hills behind east juniper. Quickly put out by neighbours & @KamFire. Our neighbours reported seeing three teenagers in the woods less than hour before. @Kamscan
March 10-16 is Social Work Week.
It’s a time to recognize and reflect on the important work that social workers do to help build safe, healthy, and caring communities.
Social workers play a play a vital role across our province, and our union includes over 4,500 of these dedicated professionals. But social work in B.C. has become increasingly fraught with challenges, including significant staffing shortages and unmanageable workloads.
Our union is aware of these current and ongoing challenges, and we are taking a number of steps to address these difficulties and to help mitigate workplace issues for our members.

@richardzussman This is really disturbing as it directly contravenes the coroners act and powers outlined of coroners/chief coroners to make recommendations (without political influence!).
Behind each loss is a story of a loved one a cherished human being who meant the world and was somebody's someone. I encourage everyone of you to read each story. We must do better!💔 #IOAD

What ever was rumored it caused a semi that was going to deliver supplies to anglemont to be refused entry after they had all the proper permits from bcws and csrd
@WalbytoYoshii @j_mcelroy That story was drama. If you did some more research, a later interview with BCWS thanked locals for filling generators left by BCWS, equip was used to continue to fight fires before BCWS returned over 24 hours later.
Two sides to every story.
Here's my story on why so many people in the Shuswap are upset about how the government has handled the massive wildfire in the region.

@j_mcelroy There was little security on the North side Saturday, they weren’t stopping anyone and so many people were returning to support locals as everyone was told that BCWS couldn’t return until safety could be assessed… yet some local volunteer FD were actively working hard.
@j_mcelroy Communication is so important during these events. It’s sets the tone.
Friday night, my parents were sure they were losing their home in Scotch Creek and the last communication from CSRD that night was…
Did Kelowna close their EOC Friday night?
