The Orange County District Attorney’s Office has zero tolerance for animal cruelty. Those who abuse, neglect, torture, or kill animals in Orange County will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Behind cases like these is the Orange County District Attorney’s Office Animal Cruelty Unit — a team of experienced prosecutors and investigators dedicated to holding animal abusers accountable and seeking justice for animals that cannot protect themselves. Violence of any kind against animals will not be tolerated, and our office remains committed to ensuring those who inflict harm on animals are held accountable under the law.

This week, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office secured convictions against Kwong (Tony) Chun Sit and Tingfeng Liu for crimes related to animal cruelty and destruction of evidence.

Sit was convicted of 11 felony counts of animal cruelty, seven misdemeanor counts of attempted destruction of evidence, and one misdemeanor count of destruction of evidence. He faces a maximum sentence of 13 years and 11 months in state prison.

Liu was convicted of one felony count of accessory to a felony, one misdemeanor count of destruction of evidence, and two misdemeanor counts of attempted destruction of evidence. She faces a maximum sentence of four years in custody.
