30 years ago today, Feb. 24, Dinah Shore passed away. For a couple of generations of @lpga players, few people were as important as Shore for her high-profile support of the women’s game . . .
Final thoughts on Open championship
-It’s awesome that a non bomber can win majors. Champion golfer of the yr is the best. Congrats to Harm on an awesome win
-Hoylake is an awesome course and test. Internal OB on 3 and 18 were a trip. Made you think about every club you pulled out of the bag. The bunkering is great, one little misstep, the ball is ending up in one of those bunkers and it’s an auto one shot penalty if not worse.
-the bunkers… I feel like I can write a 10 page essay on these. I think it’s great these bunkers are penal. The bunkers are too lenient in the states since we even purposely aim at green side bunkers going for par 5s in two sometimes while you avoid them here like a virus.
-The sand is also quite interesting. For whatever reason, I’m not 100% sure why, but I can get the ball to go a bit higher than with the sand in the states. It’s not like the sand is firm, but it’s quite heavy and the ball will barely roll when hit into them. We should have more of these in the states.
-missing a cut always feel terrible and you never get numb to it. Especially when since it’s one of my fav tournaments of the yr, it really sucks but I saw some positives and I think it’s something l can learn from and get better.
-One of the things that makes golf so special are the connections you make. My official for the group on Thursday was Tommy T, a guy that worked for the AJGA and I saw often from when I was 13-17 yrs old. It was crazy and awesome running into him again.
-I know this won’t be my last Open and I can’t wait to play it next time around.
@Daniel_Rapaport Disagree x Although I may not agree with said limiting ticket sales (although as a golf event prof do understand), LACC was a buttery track, awesome to watch thru broadcast & even better onsite and finally a true test for best players in the game.
"I also love golf because even though I am the smallest kid in my class, when I play golf, it doesn't matter because playing golf makes me feel tall, strong and proud." 💪
2nd grader Emylie Ramirez shares why she thinks other girls should play golf. ❤️⛳️
