Great first week at @UTHPMR!
Been blessed to have so many hands-on learning opportunities with the use of ultrasound and EMG this week in the clinic. Really excited for the rest of the rotation!
(Check the last pic’s ALT for some VERY important information!)
Had the chance to talk to my grandpa (he lives in 🇲🇽). He congratulated me on my achievements and gave me some great advice.
"Si tienes algo, cuídalo. Si no lo tienes, búscalo."
"If you have something, take care of it. If you don't have it, look for it."
Gracias Abuelo ❤️
Always a joy to share the stage with @EllenCaseyMD - but what a treat to have Dr. Suzy Kim one of the great Paralympic physiatrists! Thanks for @StephTowMD for putting together the great panel of speakers!
So so thrilled & humbled to represent McGovern #PMR Student Assoc. and receive the award for Outstanding Interest Group at #Physiatry23@AAPhysiatrists. As president, I stand on the shoulders of giants. We are so proud of our efforts towards advocacy and education! @DrNikoDragoDO
Shadowing an SCI doc for 2 wks. And the first thing I got asked was: what are your goals. There is literally nothing better than nice residents and attendings taking time to TEACH, SET GOALS with them, and give opportunities to PRACTICE 🥺 #MedTwitter#physiatry
Academics study interesting and important things. But we often lack training in how to effectively engage an audience.
I hope my advice helps. Because if we want to maximize the impact of our scientific endeavors, we need to keep working on our public speaking skills.
Great quotes I heard from Louis: “Healthcare professionals are uniquely positioned to provide education to persons with disabilities to enter adaptive sports programs.”
“The sports aspect is at times secondary to the community aspect.” #AdaptiveSports#DisabilityTwitter
Got invited by a good friend, Louis, to watch his talk for the AdaptiveSports Coalition! Great testimony to hear how to start a program from the ground up with some grit and vision. Great education series and good seeing my mentor, @StephTowMD on the call too! #Physiatry
Some facts! 1) Named for the relationship with Houston iconography of the Apollo space program 2) the mythology relationship of Apollo as a healer 3)Apollo riding a GOLDEN CHARIOT
Love working developmental #WheelchairRugby practice! My friend just got his new low point chair! If you’re in Houston and know someone who would be interesting in wheelchair rugby hmu! #AdaptiveSports
