Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane has warned that police will act firmly against anyone engaging in unlawful activities during marches or protests. Authorities say peaceful demonstrations are protected, but criminal behaviour will not be tolerated.
Several commuters were injured after a taxi reportedly lost control, overturned and rolled into a stream in Burgersfort.
The injured sustained moderate to serious injuries and were transported to hospital for urgent treatment. No fatalities were reported.
