Press Release: Our father, Mallam Nasir @elrufai, is still being held by the ICPC. Today, 15 May 2026, we witnessed two distinct yet equally serious attacks on his basic rights. First, his personal Doctor visited the ICPC at about 3pm to discuss the results of medical tests recently conducted on our father. Officials at the agency blocked the doctor from seeing him, claiming that written permission from the ICPC Chairman was required. This directly flouts a clear court order granting Mallam Nasir El‑Rufai unrestricted access to his doctors.
Second, his wife, Aunty Aichatou, brought his evening meal at around 7pm as she normally does. ICPC personnel turned her away, saying they had orders not to permit food deliveries after 6:30pm. This arbitrary rule is no less offensive than blocking his right to medical care.
These acts are an outright assault on the rule of law and a clear violation of our father's constitutional and human rights. No lawful detention justifies denying medical access or refusing basic family care based on an arbitrary curfew fixed by the ICPC. Shame on them as an institution.
We demand that all his constitutional rights be fully respected. We will no longer accept this pattern of intimidation dressed up as protocol. The ICPC must abide by the very laws it claims to enforce.
Signed
Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai
Member.
Kaduna North Federal Constituency
Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations.
May 15, 2026.
Children from baby factories were all over the internet celebrating my arrest.
They spread all sorts of lies, trying to link me to Boko Haram, bandits, and even ISWAP.
But the God I serve does not sleep. Today, I am free, while Nnamdi Kanu remains in Sokoto prison.
GOOD NEWS: Last night, armed bandits raided Mai Nika and Dan Kyadi communities in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State. During the attack, they shot two residents and rustled a large number of livestock, causing fear and distress among villagers.
However, in a swift and coordinated response, combined security forces tracked the bandits, engaged them in a confrontation, and successfully dispersed them. All the rustled livestock were fully recovered during the operation.
This morning, the recovered livestock were officially handed over to the Vice Chairman of Gwarzo LGA, Hon. Abdulmumini Garba, in Lakwaya village, Gwarzo LGA.
Kudos to the gallant security forces for their bravery, professionalism, and timely intervention. Their swift action not only restored the stolen property but also reassured residents of their commitment to protecting lives and property.

A Call for Urgent Action: Northern Governors Must Protect Their People.
The Northern Governors’ Forum must urgently declare a state of emergency on insecurity across the North and work together with full commitment to end the daily killings of innocent Northerners. The situation has gone beyond political speeches and routine condemnations, it now demands bold, coordinated, and decisive action.
Specifically, the governors of Zamfara State, Kebbi State, Sokoto State, and Katsina State must set politics aside and declare a full-scale, face-to-face war against bandits and their sponsors. These states have suffered repeated attacks, displacement of communities, and the loss of countless lives.
The safety of the people must come first. Unity, sincerity, and strong collaboration with security agencies are urgently needed. The time for decisive action is now, Northern people deserve peace, protection, and justice.

Today, January 15, 2026, marks the 60th anniversary of the brutal assassination of one of Nigeria’s greatest statesmen, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the first (and only) Premier of the Northern Region.
Sir Ahmadu Bello, as a political leader, was a visionary architect of progress, a bridge between tradition and modernity and a tireless champion of his people.
His brutal murder on that fateful night of January 15, 1966, alongside his devoted wife Hafsatu and others, was a profound loss to the nation.
Rest in perfect peace, Sardauna Gamji. The North remembers, Nigeria remembers, and history will continue to forever honor you.
This is to strongly condemn the reported abduction of 12 Muslim faithful by armed militias in Plateau State. The victims were reportedly travelling to attend an Islamic gathering in Gaji village, Bashar District, Wase Local Government Area, when they were brutally and unlawfully intercepted and taken. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
This cruel act is unacceptable and constitutes a grave violation of the fundamental rights to life, liberty and freedom of worship. No individual or group should be targeted on the basis of their faith or peaceful religious activities.
We humbly call on the relevant security agencies to act swiftly and decisively to secure the immediate and safe release of the abducted persons, identify and apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice.
Peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and the rule of law must prevail.
President Tinubu has renamed the Federal University of Medical Sciences, Azare, after our late revered scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi. The institution is now called “Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi University of Medical Sciences”. He was a national treasure who deserves this recognition.
Sheikh Isa Ali Pantami has said it all here. Making the aspect of islamic scholarship cheaply and the ubiquity of mediocrities masquerading as sheikhs have constituted to our problem. I am with the opinion that preaching should be regulated in Nigeria, there should be an ethical, moral and certification standard that guarantees a preaching license.
Every tom, dick and harry who can read the Iman Nawawi’s forty hadith and can recite few Surahs in the holy Qur’an will mount camera and begin issuing fatwas on advanced Islamic doctrines and complex exegetical matters that have taken scholars decades to master. We are not ready.
