I can understand that if Mojang do the change poorly performance may suffer, but again that will just be teething issues. I think it'll be quite rare for a person to be attempting to run the game on a laptop or pc in the first place that will not see an improvement.

The game NEEDS to move forward, and continue to support modern devices, it makes 0 sense to support old devices that can barely run the game as is. Most people will have a device that can support Vulkan -

For someone so keen on not making stuff obsolete and alienating. The amount of people who play on MacOS far exceeds the amount of people who run computers without vulcan support
