ROBLOX took 10 years to reach 30 million users. Then they hit 300 million in the next 3 years. I've been digging into their platform evolution. The trajectory is really instructive for anyone building developer ecosystems.

I'd say three decisions made the difference:
1) Start with minimal viable tools and iterate based on usage.
2) When the moment is right, stop competing with creators (2008 pivot).
3) Monetize only after the model is proven (7 years for Roblox).
