Today - Super King Air emergency landing on a road in British Columbia, Canada, hitting at least one car. All 8 aboard survived; so far, no reports of injuries on the ground
Aircraft [Registration C-GEDV] was operated by "Sekani Air Ltd", went down in the area of Prince George
In 1968, a sikorsky ch-53a sea stallion took on something far beyond its size: towing the 17,000-ton uss austin (Ipd-4).
The test was conducted by sikorsky to demonstrate a new idea: that heavy-lift helicopters could assist disabled warships, reposition vessels in confined waters, or provide emergency maneuvering without tugboats.
WATCH: The moment a firefighting Huey helicopter performs an autorotation landing in Canada
The helicopter suffered a mechanical failure, and its bucket hook became jammed, preventing the pilot from releasing the bucket.
Despite the added complication, the pilot executed a remarkably smooth emergency landing.
Brilliant work by the crew. Those pilots are incredibly skilled.
Incident from 8/14/26.

Ejecting live bears out of a B-58
In 1962, the U.S. Air Force used live American black bears, including one named Yogi, to test the Convair B-58 Hustler's clamshell supersonic escape capsule after earlier human trials had resulted in fatalities. Bears were selected because their weight and internal organ anatomy closely resembled those of human pilots, making them suitable analogues.
In the key test on March 21, 1962, Yogi was ejected from 35,000 feet at Mach 1.3 (approximately 870 mph) and landed safely after 7 minutes and 49 seconds. Subsequent tests included another bear, Big John, ejected from 45,000 feet at over 1,000 mph (Mach 1.6).
The capsules functioned as designed, enabling the bears to survive the high-speed ejections and providing critical data for safe high-altitude bailouts. Although the bears survived the tests, they were euthanized afterward for medical analysis to evaluate the physiological effects of the forces involved.
While controversial by modern standards, these tests contributed to advancements in escape technology used in later aircraft such as the SR-71 Blackbird and F-111 Aardvark.
(Before anyone asks, I like animals a lot and do not support this. But this is how the world works)
🇺🇦 This man did something extraordinary. His name is Vladyslav Polskyi, commander of an assault company in Ukraine’s 475th Assault Regiment “Code 9.2.”
Pay attention to his position: company commander. That matters.
Two of his assault troops successfully attacked enemy positions but were later hit by Russian Molniya drones. Both were seriously wounded. An unmanned ground vehicle was sent to evacuate them, but during the evacuation, an enemy drone struck the robotic platform, leaving the immobilized soldiers exposed in open terrain.
Another drone could have finished them off.
While the command post was trying to figure out how to evacuate the wounded under enemy fire, aerial reconnaissance suddenly spotted a pickup truck racing down the road toward them.
It was their company commander.
Vladyslav Polskyi had reportedly jumped into the vehicle without even putting on his body armor and driven straight toward his wounded men.
Risking his own life, he reached the disabled ground vehicle, personally transferred both wounded soldiers into the pickup and brought them back to safety.
He saved them.
The commander of the 475th Assault Regiment, “Flint,” was later asked why his soldiers go into assaults when others sometimes refuse.
The answer is simple: his soldiers know their commanders do not hide behind their backs. They know their commanders are prepared to risk everything to bring their people home.
Company commander Vladyslav Polskyi deserves to be recognized as a Hero of Ukraine.
This is what leadership looks like. 🇺🇦
Tail strike on VN-A867 + possible ELECTRIC BRAKE ACTUATOR ISSUES On Both MAIN GEAR.
Vietnam Airlines 787-9 out of Munich today... very late rotation, almost full runway used, confirmed tail strike, then returned with multiple tires shredded.
Electric Brake Actuator (EBA) seizure or internal fault is high on my list for that kind of acceleration. Fits the PICTURE also arrived with shredded tires.
Just my theory. Waiting for the report.
