I extend my deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation to the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu @netanyahu the Government of Israel, and the people of Israel for becoming the first nation in thirty-five years to formally recognize the Republic of Somaliland as a sovereign and independent state, affirming its nationhood, independence, and inherent right to self-determination.
This courageous and historic decision stands as a testament to the resilience, political maturity, and unwavering aspirations of the people of Somaliland. For more than three decades, our nation has remained steadfast in its commitment to peace, democracy, stability, and the democratic expression of the will of its people. Somaliland will never forget this historic gesture of friendship, mutual respect, and principled recognition.
We firmly believe that Somaliland and Israel will build a deep and enduring partnership founded on mutual respect, security, innovation, development, and a shared commitment to advancing the prosperity and well-being of our peoples.
I am also pleased to announce that the Republic of Somaliland and the State of Israel have formally signed a Strategic Joint Declaration of Cooperation, marking a historic milestone in relations between our two nations. This landmark agreement establishes the foundation for a lasting strategic partnership and deepens cooperation in the fields of agriculture, water management, security, technology, investment, economic development, and infrastructure.
This achievement represents a defining moment in Somaliland’s national journey and a significant milestone for its people. It will leave an enduring mark on our history and usher in a new era of partnership, opportunity, and international engagement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today with the President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the leaders signed a Joint Declaration on strengthening the cooperation between the two states, and delivered statements.

Last night in Davos, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, i met with the President of the State of Israel, @Isaac_Herzog at a high-level dinner. Our discussions focused on strengthening and advancing bilateral relations between the Republic of Somaliland and the State of Israel.
I also met @EricTrump , an influential global figure and son of the President of the United States, as well as other senior global political figures and international leaders.

It's a great privilege to conduct the first official diplomatic visit to Somaliland, at the invitation of President @Abdirahmanirro.
The visit is also a message: We are determined to vigorously advance relations between Israel and Somaliland.
Today, we held substantive discussions with the President and senior members of his government on the full range of our relations.
The mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries are not directed against anyone. Our shared objective is to promote the mutual benefit of both nations and countries.
In Hargeisa, I made it clear:
Only Israel will decide whom it recognizes and with whom it maintains diplomatic relations.
The President of Somaliland informed me that he has accepted @IsraeliPM Netanyahu’s invitation and will pay an official visit to Israel.
I announced today the official recognition of the Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state.
Together with Foreign Minister Sa'ar and the President of the Republic of Somaliland, we signed a joint and mutual declaration.
This declaration is in the spirit of the Abraham Accords, signed at the initiative of President Trump.
I congratulated the President of Somaliland, Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdallah, and praised his leadership and commitment to promoting stability and peace. I invited the President to pay an official visit to Israel.
The President thanked me for this historic declaration and expressed appreciation for my achievements in fighting terrorism and advancing regional peace.
I thank Foreign Minister Sa’ar, the Head of Mossad David Barnea and the Mossad, for their contribution to today’s development, and I wish the people of Somaliland success, prosperity, and freedom.
The State of Israel plans to immediately expand its relations with the Republic of Somaliland through extensive cooperation in the fields of agriculture, health, technology, and economy.
